Research reveals that adults are likely to spend over £62,000 on dining out in their lifetime, with steak or a classic roast being the preferred meals.
A study involving 2,000 adults discovered that despite attempts to curb spending habits, individuals still shell out an average of £84 per month on food consumed outside the home.
Two thirds are currently trying to be mindful of their spending with 46% keen to cut costs on dining out. Yet, 74% believe that a meal out with friends or family is money well spent.

This research was commissioned by Compare the Market, found that a staggering 44% confessed they'd dine out with their family every day if given the chance.
Two thirds of those surveyed consider going out for a meal as their top choice for spending quality time with loved ones, saying it's 'ideal bonding time' - surpassing activities like catching up at home or going for a walk.

For some 41% they just enjoy sampling foods they can't easily prepare at home and see it as an opportunity to create new memories.
