UnitedHealthcare Killing: Luigi Mangione Officially Charged With Murder Of Brian Thompson -- And His Family Reacts

Luigi Mangione has officially been charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

After getting arrested at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, where cops claim he gave them a fake New Jersey driver’s license before ultimately admitting to be the wanted suspect, the 26-year-old was slammed with several charges in New York and Pennsylvania.

According to a criminal complaint viewed by E! News, he was charged in PA with forgery, firearms not to be carried without a license, tampering with records or identification, instruments of a crime and false identification to law enforcement. People reported he is being held without bail after his arraignment in Hollidaysburg, PA on Monday. He didn’t enter a plea, and his next hearing is scheduled for December 23.

Court records obtained by TMZ show the alleged killer is also facing numerous charges in New York for the killing, including one count of murder, two counts of possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a forged instrument, and criminal possession of a weapon. The outlet also obtained another mugshot of the viral alleged felon:

Less than an hour before the chargers were announced, the suspect’s cousin, Maryland Republican Delegate Nino Mangione (who represents parts of Baltimore County), released a statement on behalf of the family, reacting:

“Unfortunately, we cannot comment on news reports regarding Luigi Mangione. We only know what we have read in the media. Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest. We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson and we ask people to pray for all involved. We are devastated by this news.”
