Usher joined Vice President Kamala Harris on the campaign trail in Atlanta on Saturday (Oct. 19) and formally endorsed the Democratic presidential candidate.

With Election Day being two weeks away, the crooner encouraged Georgia voters to help “choose a new generation of leadership for our country.”

The 46-year-old expressed, “Normally, I’m up here to entertain, but today, I’m here for something far more significant.” As he spoke, one fan declared, “We love you, Usher” and the singer responded, “I love you more, but I love Kamala Harris even more. I want her to be our next President of the United States.”

Of his formal endorsement, Usher stated, “I’m supporting Vice President Harris because she fights for everyone’s rights and freedom. It doesn’t matter where you come from. She has a vision for our country that includes everyone. [It’s] a vision that supports small businesses, invests in our health, in our communities, and gives everyone a chance to get ahead.”

He continued, “We’ve lived through some very unfortunate realities of our past. However, we must learn from those moments and understand that the voice that we have makes the difference that we wanna see. We have to strive to not allow our past to define our future […] We have the power to change this moment in the present. Let’s vote for a future.”

Usher later doubled down on his political endorsement on social media.

The father of four participated in a TikTok trend alongside Harris and his son, Naviyd. He also shared a campaign video, amplifying his past-present-future rhetoric.

“This upcoming election is by far one of the most important of our time. It is one that will make history but more importantly, our hope is that it won’t revert back to it,” he wrote in the caption.

Usher reiterated part of his earlier sentiments and added, “The present is where we have the power to make the change for our future. The power to ensure our legacy of these United States remains intact. This is why I’m encouraging you to vote, Georgia. 4 years ago, we came together to flip our state from red to blue. Let’s come together again and vote for @kamalaharris for President of the United States.”

Back in September, he revealed he’d be voting for Harris while also stating on The View that voting was an “individual choice” after the explosive presidential debate.
