Memphis Bleek and Van Lathan got into it on Twitter/X over the weekend after Lathan insinuated that JAY-Z was guilty in the recent sexual assault case where he was accused of harming a minor.
Bleek rushed to Hov’s defense. “N***as really tried the god [goat] #MarcyDontRaise Those,” the “Dear Summer” rapper tweeted on Friday (Dec. 13). Someone else then responded to Lathan’s comments about JAY-Z, tweeting, “You a b***h a** n***a for automatically peddling bulls**t, implying JAY-Z is guilty @VanLathan.”
Bleek later cosigned the sentiment by quoting it with target emojis.
The podcast host and former TMZ producer shadily replied to Bleek’s reaction. “Oh I can actually reply to you, the other page has me blocked,” Lathan wrote. “I in no way shape or form said he was guilty or innocent. I said they were allegations that would be very hard to prove. Go check the pod. Ya’ll got c*m in ur ears from d**kriding.”
The heated exchange stemmed from Lathan speaking on the recent sexual abuse involving a minor allegations against JAY-Z.
“Tony Buzbee is in for a ride. There’s not one part of culture that won’t bend over backwards to protect JAY-Z. He might be the only Hip Hop entity that’s too big to fail,” he wrote on Twitter over a longer video with his two cents before continuing his thoughts on Instagram.
Lathan added, “The JAY-Z accusations are just that, accusations. What’s real is the all hands on deck defense you’re about to see from every part of the media landscape. Radio personalities, media companies, the billionaire class. He’s too big to fail.”
In a statement shared through Roc Nation, Hov addressed the allegation and Buzbee by writing, “True justice is coming […] This was over before it began.” He’s since asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit.
