It’s a sad day for fans of The OG of The OC … Vicki Gunvalson announced she was not asked to return to Real Housewives of Orange County.
Despite her disappointment, Vicki supported her fellow amiga, Shannon Beador. In her response to a fan question during an Ask Me Anything on Instagram, Vicki shared her news … or lack thereof.
RHOC is set to return with the same Orange holders from last season!
OK! Magazine broke the story that the entire cast was asked back for season 19. Well, the entire cast minus Alexis Bellino.
“There were rumblings about Katie Ginella not returning due to pressures her and her family felt during the first season, but she was asked back and ultimately decided to return as well,” the source told the publication.
Season 18 featured Shannon Beador, Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, Jennifer Pedranti, and newcomer, Katie Ginella.
The Dream Team
Season 18 ranked high among Bravo watchers. Everyone tuned in to see how Shannon would navigate filming alongside her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend, Alexis.
However, they stayed for the takedown of Tamra and Alexis.
On the cusp of Shannon’s DUI, and her hypocrisy towards Gina, it really had the makings to be a gang up season toward Shannon.
Sometimes the formula for reality tv works, and sometimes you can’t possibly predict how the audience will swing. Season 18 was the perfect example of that.
Alexis Bellino Was “Not Asked Back” To RHOC (Again):
Production for Real Housewives of Orange County chose to move forward without Alexis Bellino for its 19th season. On the Going Rogue podcast, ‘Jesus Jugs‘ explained that she wasn’t asked to return … even as a ‘friend of.’
“I was not asked back next season,” explained John Janssen‘s mouthpiece fiancé. The former full-time RHOC star from seasons 4-8 was replaced with Johnny J’s ex, Shannon Beador, who remains a fan favorite
“I can’t say it came as a shock, it did not come as a shock.” But, “It was a hard conversation. I guess I wasn’t really prepared [because] I didn’t think contracts were coming out. I thought we had more time.” So, “it was a shock when the call came, but I was never shocked about that information.”
Jesus Jugs admitted that being canned from RHOC again “was a little bit of a relief. I mean nobody wants the rejection, and no one wants to [hear] you’re not asked back. But it already happened to me. It happened to me in season 8. I’ve been there, done that!”
