Vicki Gunvalson‘s daughter, Briana Culverson, responded to the negativity she’s received after losing over 100 pounds with diet and exercise.

The daughter of the OG of the Real Housewives of Orange County took to Instagram to share the aftermath of her weight loss journey.

Briana’s post:

“I have RELEASED 120+ pounds. Oddly enough, that has come with a LOT of criticism. But, I’m working hard to kick these repeated phrases in my head and replace them with the positivity I receive instead.”

Briana took no shortcuts to shed her extra weight. “No magic pill, no easy button, no quick fix, no surgery, no meds. I did it all on my own. It took years. It was tough. I slipped up. I had 2 more babies which made me more jiggly again. But I stayed consistent and I feel the best I have in 20 years.”

Keeping it real, Briana continued, “I’m here to say there’s no easy answer. It’s a drive I’ve had within myself to be the best person, best mom, best wife, best nurse I can be over the past 6 years. I was chronically ill and physically and emotionally miserable for 20 years. I masked it with humor, too much alcohol, neglecting my own needs, and stuffing down emotions.

Here’s what Briana learned:

•food is poison or food is medicine
•count chemicals over calories
•aim to eat one ingredient, simple foods. If it didn’t exist 100 years ago, avoid it
•eat for nourishment over entertainment
•walking is the best (for my body AND mind)
•strength training is so important for women and can be done simply at home
•time in nature is crucial
•alcohol does not serve my purpose
•emotional wellness is as important as physical wellness
•the human body has an incredible natural ability to heal, it just needs the right support
•pure, raw supplements are key to supporting my wellness
•natural remedies can be tried first, and that doesn’t make me weird
•a little jiggle will be alright
•Health and wellness is my goal over weight loss
•stand in my own power
•people saying shitty things to me is a reflection of their own hurt
•find your people
•there is so much good in the world
•I’m proud of myself. And learning to love myself.
