Victoria Beckham has confessed the reason why she always struggled to smile for pictures.
The former Spice Girls star is well know for never smiling in photos instead choosing to deliver a steely and serious look whenever she had her picture taken. Now she has admitted that there was in fact a sad reason behind why she always struggled to smile.
Victoria, 50, has divulged that she felt too self-conscious about her skin to crack a smile. The fashion designer has often shared details of her "problematic" skin and how she has suffered from acne since she was a teenager and struggled with it throughout the peak of her girlband fame.
Now in a new interview she has recalled how she felt "so uncomfortable" taking pictures as she didn't feel confident in herself talking to The Telegraph. Victoria has been given the publication's inaugural Beauty Brand of the Year award and explained how skincare experts helped her to work out how to solve her skin issues.

Victoria also embarked upon a very strict diet to help solve her skin issues, with husband David Beckham previously revealing how she's eaten the same meal of grilled fish and steamed vegetables everyday for 25 years.
Victoria explained: "It was because of my skin that I became very careful about what I ate," after she cut out meat and wheat among other ingredients. In a huge turn around Victoria now even feels confident enough to step out without any makeup to some big red carpet events.
She said: "If you’d told me a few years ago I’d step on to a red carpet to pick up an award wearing only a bit of concealer and no foundation, I’d have thought you were mad, but that’s what I did last week." It comes after Victoria revealed she is "too busy" to be as concerned about fame as she once was.

"I suppose it used to be fun to go out and be chased by paparazzi walking down Bond Street – and you would dress knowing you were going to get that. I don't want that any more," she shared with Harper's Bazaar magazine.
Addressing her laid-back approach to life, Victoria remarked: "I've been doing this too long. I suppose I did when I was growing up but, nowadays, there's just too much going on; too busy; too many kids to worry about. I woke up at 50, and I gave a s**t less."
