Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison posted a cryptic message on social media following the team's loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.

Addison, who had just two catches for 22 yards in the 30-20 loss, posted a picture of himself on his Instagram story with the caption, "Free 3."

Addison is coming off a rookie season in which he had 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns. The first-round pick out of USC looked like a perfect fit in the Minnesota offense alongside All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson, but this year, he hasn't exactly gotten his opportunities.

Jefferson has had another sensational season, catching 41 passes for 646 yards and five touchdowns. He's been the focal point of the Minnesota offense alongside running back Aaron Jones, and thus far, it's worked, as the Vikings are 5-2. However, they have lost their last two games to the Detroit Lions and now the Rams.

As for Addison, it's unclear if he's asking for a trade or just a bigger role in the offense. Either way, it would behoove the Vikings to use their second-year wideout more. Using him more could also open the field for Jefferson.

Jefferson spoke about needing to open the offense more before Thursday night's loss.

"I'm definitely sick of having these 80, 90-yard games," Jefferson said before Thursday night's loss, per Dave Campbell of the Associated Press. "I definitely have to get over that hump of 100 yards. That's definitely my plan."

Jefferson continued: "If you see it on tape, the explosive plays are all over the field, not just me. They're all over the field, and we've just got to be dialed in, all 11, to execute those plays and to give [Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold] a little bit more time."

The Vikings' next game is next Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts. Coming off this Thursday night matchup, the team will have ample time to prepare for it. That will also be the team's final game before the NFL trade deadline, which is two days later, on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
