Election Day 2024 is finally here and the culmination of a whole lot of weird, disturbing, surprising, and otherwise inexplicable things have transpired this campaign season. We’ve seen public protests for the incumbent president to step aside, we’ve heard nonsensical babbling from elderly men, we watched an assassination attempt, we watched a Black and Southeast Asian women ascend to heights of candidacy faster than ever before, we were told about the intimacy that Vice Presidential candidate shares with inanimate home furnishings, and we’re heard some of the most racist, hateful, and disrespectful rhetoric ever employed by someone running for the highest office on the planet.

And still, we rise.

But before the sun goes down on this emotionally and mentally draining election, let’s take a look back at some of the shenanigans, shall we?

Donald Trump Gets Shot

The Orangeman was holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when a 20-year-old named Thomas Matthew Cooks tried to permanently end America’s nightmare as he took to the rooftop of a nearby building, trained his rifle on Donald Trump, and pulled the trigger multiple times. Cooks’ assassination attempt failed and he was promptly neutralized by secret service snipers.

In the aftermath, there were questions about whether Trump was grazed with a bullet or injured by shattering glass. There were also questions about how the Secret Service could even allow someone to get close enough to take a shot in the first place. Crazy times.

Joe Biden Drops Out And Endorses VP Harris

President Joseph Robinette Biden accepted and won the challenge to defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 Presidential election and “saved the soul of the nation”. However, four years later it became evident that Biden’s age and public displays of degeneration would not serve well in the 2024 election. After a disastrous debate against The Orangeman, on July 21, 2024, Biden finally decided to put country over party or personal desires and withdrew from the race just 107 days before Election Day. He also gave a full-throated endorsement of his Vice President Kamala Harris which lead to one of the most electric campaign launches of all-time.

JD Vance Does What With What?

Very few people had ever heard of JD Vance when Donald Trump announced him as his running mate in the 2024 election. However, the country quickly learned much more about Vance than any of us ever wanted to upon public scrutiny into his background. A rumor began circulating about Vance’s history with having sexual relations with couches after a Twitter user posted the following:

“can’t say for sure but he might be the first vp pick to have admitted in a ny times bestseller to fucking an inside-out latex glove shoved between two couch cushions (vance, 𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘺, pp. 179-181)

The rumor spread so fast and so furiously that serious news media outlets had to post stories debunking the cheeky bit of misinformation but not before VP Harris’ running mate Governor Tim Walz could make an epic joke about it during his introductory speech at a campaign rally.

“They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats.”

One of the most viral moments from this election season happened during the first and only presidential debate. Donald Trump used perhaps the most reprehensible rhetoric of the entire campaign as he loudly and wrongly insisted that migrant persons in Springfield, Ohio were stealing and eating the pet dogs and pet cats of the community.

The unabashedly racist moment had some of it’s venom drained by way of a viral dance song remix that swept

Racist “Joke” About Puerto Rico

Tony Hinchcliffe wanted to become the main character of the closing days of the election season by any means necessary and that he did. During Trump’s recent rally at Madison Square Garden, the Kill Tony host made the joke that might have sunk Trump’s political battleship. To call Puerto Rico “an island of floating garbage” while standing in a city known for its legendary Puerto Rican day parade is as politically stupid as it is egregiously racist.

A Clown Works At McDonald’s And His Name Rhymes With “Ronald”

Rich people do a lot of dumb and embarrassing stuff to make themselves seem relatable to the average person. In this case, the McPander comes with large fries, a drink, and a toy toupee. In what is most likely a troll against Kamala Harris former employer (she worked at McDonald’s during college), the former president spent a day “working” (see, performative photo-op) at a Mickey D’s passing out french fries and trying to look like a blue collar citizen. As iconic as Ronald McDonald is, he could never be as big a clown as Donald Trump.
