The Golden State Warriors are acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in a blockbuster trade, per ESPN's Shams Charania.
The Warriors are sending Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, and a protected first-round pick to the Heat for Butler.
The Detroit Pistons are also involved in the deal. They're acquiring Lindy Waters III from Golden State and Josh Richardson from Miami.
The Warriors, after calling just about every team in the hopes of landing a superstar, finally get a running mate for Stephen Curry.
As for the Heat, they finally move off of Jimmy Butler after a tumultuous season that included multiple suspensions and trade rumors.
Butler's drama with the Heat this season dates back to mid December, when Miami said they were open to trading the six-time All-Star.
Then, just two weeks later, Heat owner Pat Riley said the team was not going to trade him.
A week later, Butler requested a trade from the Heat.
"I want to see me getting my joy back playing basketball," Butler said then. "Wherever that may be, we'll find out here pretty soon."
Then, Butler was suspended for the first of three times by Miami. His final suspension came on Jan. 27, when he walked out of a team practice after being told he was going to be removed from the starting lineup. That suspension was indefinite, and it became clear that Butler was going to be traded before Thursday's deadline.
