Since being drafted by the Warriors in 2021, Moody has been a key piece to the team. He has helped provide depth to the team after being drafted in the first round with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Moody's contract extension keeps him under team control for the next four years. He is still trade-eligible this season, but his outgoing salary is $5.8 million, incoming is $11.2 million.

Moody's contract was set to expire soon, and he would have entered next season as a restricted free agent. In his first three seasons in the league, Moody has averaged 5.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.7 assists on 46 percent shooting from the field and 32 percent shooting from three while averaging 14.3 minutes of playing time.

This could mean that Moody's role with the team could increase. That could very likely be the case, as we've seen him have a significant impact on the team during preseason. He averaged 15.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on a 46/39/95 shooting split while averaging 20.1 minutes, including three starts.

At the end of last season, head coach Steve Kerr wanted Moody to be more aggressive with the ball, especially being an aggressive shooter, and he listened.

"He's playing great," Kerr said. "He's gotten so much better in so many ways. We've always loved his character, his work ethic. This is the most confidence he's played with."

"But so are a lot of other guys," Kerr said. "We're sitting in that coaches room every day saying: 'How are we going to play all these guys?' Because they all deserve to play. I've asked all of them to play their hardest, make it difficult for us."

Last season, Moody averaged 8.1 points per game, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.9 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the field and 36 percent from three in 66 games and nine starts.

Moody is already an NBA champion, winning his first-ever title in his rookie season. He knows what it's like to experience success, and with this new extension, he will show that he is worthy of it.

The Warriors will open up their season on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Moody and the Warriors are ready to show that they are indeed a threat in the tough Western Conference.
