ACTOR Vinnie Jones has swapped his usual hardman YV and film roles to tread the boards as he takes to the stage.
Vinnie Jones will be joining the Peckham crew as part of musical Only Fools and Horses, as he makes his stage debut as gangster Danny Driscoll.
The actor is best known for his roles in Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
He will join comedian comedy genius Paul Whitehouse as well as the rest of the cast in the stage performance based on the BBC sitcom series.
Vinnie stars as local crime lord Danny Driscoll, one half of the notorious Driscoll Brothers.
The brothers rule Peckham commanding respect and frightening the locals, including main characters Del Boy and Rodney.
Vinnie Jones spoke about his new role as he said: "I've always been a fan of Only Fools and Horses, and when my longtime friend Phil McIntyre called me up and said he was interested in me playing the role of Danny Driscoll, I told him to count me in.
"The director CJay Ranger and her creative team are great and I'm excited to contribute to the legacy of the show."
Vinnie's debut as the gangster who comes up against Del Boy and Rodney will see him take to the stage for several weeks at London's Hammersmith Eventim Apollo from 17 December until 5 January.
The show has been met with popular demand that it's had three extra performances added; 23 December at 2.30pm, 30 December at 7.30pm and 5 January at 6pm.
After this Vinnie will step back from the show as the popular musical show continues its UK theatre tour.
Directed by the originating West End director Caroline Jay Ranger, the tour travels to over 30 towns and cities up and down the country, before culminating in Dublin at the end of June 2025.
The show has been highly praised by audience members and is based on John Sullivan’s legendary record-breaking television show.
