Since Star Wars went under the Disney umbrella, arguably the best character introduced has been Hera Syndulla. Hera first appeared in Star Wars Rebels as the pilot and leader of the Ghost crew. Since then, we’ve seen her go from badass pilot to fearless leader, mother, and a whole lot more. Basically Hera is Han Solo and Princess Leia rolled into one. So getting to see her come to life in live action, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, was truly one of the highlights of Star Wars: Ahsoka.
This week, the first season of Ahsoka is coming to physical media for the first time and the disc has a special feature about just that. “Ghost of the Past” shines a light on Rebels and Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni bringing his Rebels characters—Sabine, Hera, Ezra, and Chopper—to life on the show. And here, io9 has an exclusive clip from the Hera segment. Check it out.
Here’s a list of the other features on the Ahsoka set.
- Ahsoka: Legacy — Join cast and crew for a look at developing Ahsoka’s live-action series.
- Path of the Apprentice — Explore the dynamic of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka within the world between worlds.
- Ghosts of the Past — Go deep with a spotlight on Ahsoka’s allies: Sabine, Hera, Ezra and Chopper.
- Darkness Rising — Uncover the secrets of Ahsoka’s foes.
Considering Disney+ never released a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Ahsoka, this is the best we’ve got so far. For that reason alone, fans will probably want to pick this set up. The steelbook and 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision picture and Atmos audio don’t hurt either.
Plus, that’s just one of a few new releases for Disney+ fans: Loki season two, Hawkeye season one, and The Mandalorian season three are all coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray for the first time on December 3. Are you going to pick them up?
