Wendy Williams was spotted out enjoying time with family as her legal guardian claims she is permanently incapacitated.
A clip of the 60-year-old was shared on Instagram by blogger Antoine Edwards on Sunday (Dec. 15). According to the caption, the former talk show host was outside of the Sisa Sara’s Shonuff Oysters restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
In the quick video, Williams smiles in the backseat of a truck as restaurant employees greet her with her “How you doing?” catchphrase. She is handed her order of lobster, crab, and original oysters before expressing her gratitude to the staff. During the entire interaction captured for the camera, Williams is all smiles, and seemingly in good spirits.
Last month, Williams was said to be “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated,” per her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey. The health update was shared in legal documents as reps lead the New Jersey native in a battle against A&E Television Networks, Lifetime Entertainment, and eOne over allegedly “exploiting” her in the the controversial 2024 documentary Where Is Wendy Williams?
The filing alleges the project was “filmed without a valid contract and released without Guardian’s consent,” adding that Williams was in a “highly vulnerable” state and was “clearly incapable of consenting to being filmed, much less humiliated and exploited.”
In February, the broadcast veteran shared she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia, a rare nervous system syndrome, and dementia. She has previously been open about her being diagnosed with both Graves’ Disease and Lymphedema.
