Josh revealed during the 90 Day: The Last Resort season 2 premiere in December 2024 that during a break in his relationship with Natalie, his son was involved in a frightening car accident.
“My world was flipped outside down. My son was in a very serious accident. His friend lost his life and my son lost his leg,” Josh told the cameras during the episode. “It was really tough but Natalie was very comforting.”
The modeling CEO first revealed his son’s accident in February 2024 via a post on Instagram. “My son was in a car accident and was airlifted out. He lost the battle with his right leg and is fighting for his life. I’m completely shattered,” he shared. “Please pray that my son pulls through this with no more complications. I love him more than life itself.”
One day after Josh’s announcement, his ex-wife, Candice Mishler, who also appeared on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, shared her own update via her Instagram Stories.
“Pre-surgery, we were told it would be a miracle if they would be able to close up Jett’s abdomen due to internal swelling. The medical team was hoping to make small adjustments to the organs and close his abdomen by 50%,” she wrote. “Surgery went better than expected and he’s completely closed up, along with the removal of his neck brace … today has been a huge milestone on this long journey.”
She continued, “Vitals remain stable and Jett’s resting peacefully. We are preparing for another surgery tomorrow on his left femur and start the process of graphing his upper right thigh.”
Two weeks later, Josh updated fans and told his followers that he had been through “every emotion imaginable.” “[We] still have a long journey ahead. We appreciate all the love, thoughts, and prayers,” he shared on February 18, 2024. “They have helped so much. This is the beginning of Jett’s story and what he was meant to achieve and accomplish, and I truly believe that. He is meant for something great and though this may be a minor setback we will accomplish greatness.”

Fortunately, Jett survived the accident and has adjusted to life since losing his right leg. His recovery journey has been shared on social media, with his mother highlighting in April 2024 that he has been “embracing adaptation” by returning to familiar routines like working out at the gym, going on Razor rides and grilling tri-tip.
In addition, Jett started physical therapy and was fitted for a prosthetic leg. “Today marks 100 days after the accident and Jett has his prosthetic!” Josh shared via Instagram in May 2024. “Excited for the journey ahead and all the positive milestones to come.”
