YouTube, even after being one of the biggest video streaming platforms on the globe, keeps experimenting and bringing new features for the convenience of the users. As of now, the platform is working on YouTube Premium Lite which is an aggressively low-priced subscription that offers fewer ads as compared to the unpaid version.
As posted on Threads by a user named jonahmanzano, YouTube Premium Lite will be launched in the global market at a price of $8.99 per month which is around 50% less than its original price of $16.99. Nonetheless, YouTube has not officially confirmed any of the details. As for the India price, the YouTube Premium subscription is available for Rs 149 per month. We can expect the YouTube Premium Lite subscription to launch at a price of around Rs 75 if it is launched in India.
Why YouTube Premium Lite could become a reality?
YouTube recently increased the price of all the subscriptions in India by around 58% which came as a shocker for the consumers. While no one is going to leave watching YouTube videos, but yes, a drop in the Premium subscribers count could have been a major reason behind pushing YouTube to work on a midway.
