WhatsApp’s AI chatbot, Meta AI, is about to get a chat memory feature for Android. The chatbot may be made to recall certain personal information by users, which enables it to tailor its answers. Although beta testers are unable to use this functionality at this time, it was observed in the most recent beta version of the application. A similar function named Memory is also offered by Meta AI on ChatGPT. We anticipate that the chat memory function will improve the user experience.

According to WabetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new character memory function. It is releasing a new update via the Google Play Beta Program, update version 2.24.22.9. The new chat memory function for Meta AI is expected to be released in a future update since the feature is still under development and not ready for beta testing.

According to the report, WhatsApp intends to further personalise the experience with Meta AI, offering users more targeted responses to their wants and questions. According to the shared screenshot, the new functionality would allow Meta AI to automatically recall prior chatbot data, allowing users to receive more relevant and personalised replies. The function will remember personal information such as vegan status, birthdate, and chat style preferences. Meta AI may also remember allergies and personal hobbies, such as book selections, films, and podcasts. This feature is scheduled to be provided in a future version.

Meta AI’s memory capability is anticipated to improve personalisation in interactions by making personalised recommendations and guidance. This enables Meta AI to avoid proposing foods that consumers have hated or were allergic to, resulting in a more engaging and natural experience. Users have control over what Meta AI remembers, as they may edit or delete specific information at any moment. This makes Meta AI feel like a personal assistant.
