When Is the Season Finale of 'Cobra Kai' and Will There Be a Season 7?

The hit Netflix series Cobra Kai is making a return very soon and the streamer has promised an action-packed end to its sixth season.

The spin-off to the hit Karate Kid movies from the 1980s, Cobra Kai first found popularity on YouTube Premium—then known as YouTube Red—in 2018.

Netflix acquired the show after YouTube decided to stop producing it and has broadcast every season since its second.

Set 35 years after the events of the first movie, the Netflix show reunites Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso—the Karate Kid—with his one-time rival Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka, reprising his role).

When Does the Final Part of Season 6 Premiere?

The sixth season of Cobra Kai has been released in three parts, each consisting of five episodes. The season premiered this way to due to delays in production during the Hollywood writers and actors strike in 2023.

The final third of Cobra Kai's sixth season lands on Netflix on February 13.

"Almost 40 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, it's all been leading to this," reads the Netflix synopsis.

Zabka compared the three-part release to a major film trilogy.

"The stakes are set at the end of the first five. I think if it was just a movie, it's a great ending that would beg for a sequel, which fortunately is coming in a few months," Zabka told Tudum.

The second part of season six ended on a cliffhanger with a shocking result in the Sekai Taikai (karate tournament), meaning the Miyagi-Do and Cobra Kai dojos will have to contend with their pasts while facing an uncertain future both on and off the karate mat.

"All the big bads are still in play," Hayden Schlossberg, who co-created the show with Jon Hurwitz and Josh Heald, told Tudum. "You still have Kreese, Silver, Sensei Wolf, Master Kim Da-Eun. Everyone is still on the board. Nothing's been resolved. We have a lot of fun in store with all the characters left in tatters at the end of Episode 10."

Will There Be a Season 7 of 'Cobra Kai' Last?

The sad news is that the upcoming episodes will be the final for the hit show and was announced by Netflix in January 2023.

Cobra Kai's creators decided to end the show themselves based on the story's natural storyline.

Hurwitz, the show runner and co-creator wrote on X, formerly Twitter, at the time, "We've always wanted to end Cobra Kai on our own terms. Netflix didn't tell us it was the last season. We told them it was the last season. We've always wanted to end Cobra Kai on our own terms and we are grateful we have the opportunity to do so."
