Genevieve Mushaluk orchestrated two major blindsides on season 47 of Survivor and became one of the biggest threats in the process. In fact, she almost got voted out during the November 20, 2024, episode, but the group decided to target Gabe Ortis instead.
As the finale nears closer, fans want to know more about the cutthroat competitor.
What Is ‘Survivor’ Star Genevieve Mushaluk’s Job?
Genevieve works as a corporate lawyer. She is employed by Priceline as an in-house attorney. Genevieve received her law degree from the University of Manitoba and was the vice president of the Manitoba Law Students Association from 2015 to 2016.
“I am a corporate lawyer, so deals, negotiations, contracts,” she explained to Parade. “I’m in my most comfortable, happy place buried behind paperwork.”
However, Genevieve did not want to be honest with her castmates about her profession. “The leading idea is something trademark, brand-related,” she told Parade before filming began. “Because that’s a type of law I used to do and so there’s something there. I’ve got to noodle it around. But I’ve got nothing but time to prepare and picture my fake life and timeline. And then I’ll pick a title that’s boring enough that people’s eyes glaze over when I talk about it and it sort of kills the conversation.”
Where Is Survivor’s Genevieve Mushaluk From?
Genevieve hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. “I first applied [to Survivor] the very night that Canadians could,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “So that’s, what? Five or six years ago [2018]?”
It wasn’t an easy feat for her to get on the show. “I’ve applied every year since and got progressively closer each time, but last year I got rejected when my hopes were up,” Genevieve continued. “It hurt. But I kept trying. It’s the longest I’ve failed at something repeatedly but kept trying and here I am!”
What Is Survivor’s Genevieve Mushaluk Nationality?
Genevive grew up in a “big Ukranian family,” she told Parade while reminiscing about days with her loved ones.
“And [it wasn’t] just immediate family,” she shared. “Relatives, cousins, grandparents. And when we were young, growing up, that was every holiday, or just a Monday. Any excuse to get together with the whole family.”
The Survivor contestant credits her big family with helping her get ready for the game. “My extended family was always really close,” she told EW. “I grew up sitting around a big table, conversing with kids and adults of all ages and personalities. Being able to appreciate and connect with people of all backgrounds and ages and ideas will come easier to me because of my upbringing.”
Is Survivor’s Genevieve Mushaluk Married?
Genevieve has not shared much about her personal life, but she did reveal in her interview with Parade that she has a husband named Mark.
“I’m the type of person [where], if I see a spider in my house, I’m like, ‘Ah! Mark – my husband – can you come get this?’” she admitted. “If he’s not home, I’m fully capable.”
