Polarizing podcast host Joe Rogan has often prompted discourse with his controversial stances, but one woman has stayed by his side through it all — his wife, Jessica Ditzel.
Though Ditzel tends to keep out of the public eye — maintaining private social media accounts and a relatively low profile — Rogan has spoken highly of her on quite a few occasions.
Rogan and Ditzel first met in the early 2000s, when Ditzel was working as a cocktail waitress in Los Angeles. The two briefly lived in Colorado together, before Ditzel got pregnant with their first daughter together, Lola in 2008. The two later relocated to Bell Canyon, California. The couple officially tied the knot in 2009.
The couple has three daughters — Lola, 15, and Rosy, 13; whom they share with each other — and Kayja, 27 whom Ditzel shares with a previous ex, and Rogan adopted. As of 2020, Rogan, Ditzel, and their two youngest daughters currently live in a $14 million home on Lake Austin in Austin, Texas.
The couple keeps details about their life relativelyprivate, however, Rogan has spoken about his wife and daughters a few times on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. In an episode of Experience that dropped in March 2023, the namesake host spoke with comedian Bert Kreischer and commended Ditzel on her strength.
"I like a gal who could help you move a couch," Rogan said. "That's what I like. I like 'em sturdy... "Rogan continued, saying "My wife does not like when I say that about her, just like when I call her sturdy. But she's strong... I like strong women."
Rogan himself may have some controversial stances, but in a June 2019 episode of his podcast, he implied that he and Ditzel have similar "values."
"Find someone who you can grow with," Rogan advised to the episode's guests Charlamagne tha God and Andrew Schulz. "You don't want to be with someone who doesn't share your values... You want to be with someone who's genuinely kind."
Rogan continued, describing his wife "She's a dedicated, disciplined person. She's also really nice, she's always smiling," Rogan stated.
In an April 2024 episode of the podcast, Rogan said that he and his wife and daughters often engage in discussion over political and social issues. He shared that one of his daughters is "very much against the death penalty."
"We've had conversations about people that are unjustly accused, and she knows that I've had many people on my podcast that spent a long time in jail for crimes that they didn't commit and that some of them were on death row," Rogan said. "They could have been executed. I said in a perfect scenario, when you absolutely know that the law has got the right person, that this person has done something that they have killed people, yeah, maybe the death penalty makes sense."
He added that while this issue is divisive in his family, he, his wife, and daughters all agree that those guilty of child sex crimes should receive the death penalty. "Especially my wife," Rogan said. "Mothers, you know, they hear that and it's just like 'that's the one, you have to kill them.'"
As Rogan is one of the world's most prolific podcast hosts, his wife has managed to avoid the spotlight. But the two appear very happy when she joins him at public events. The two were recently spotted enjoying quality time together last month at the F1 Grand Prix of United States at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.
