Gleb Savchenko is standing by his decision to end his relationship with Brooks Nader in an unconventional way.
On Tuesday, November 12, the Dancing with the Stars pro hit the red carpet for the inaugural Gurus Awards in Los Angeles, California and defended his decision to end his romance with his romance with his former dance partner via text message.
Savchenko, 41, told TooFab, "Sometimes you can be mixed up in a conversation. So I always like to write everything down."
"So when I wrote that down, it felt like it was perfect, you know, because the moment you start a conversation, you might get lost, so it's better to just write it down," the professional ballroom dancer explained.
Savchenko and Nader, 28, competed on Season 33 of the hit dance show and were eliminated on the Tuesday, October 15 episode.
Fans thought they were involved in a showmance during their time on the ABC hit, but the dancers insisted their romance was real, with Savchenko even referring to Nader as his "boo" during an interview in October. The couple also became known for their public displays of affection on social media and in paparazzi photos.
Savchenko told the outlet he hadn't communicated with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, since their split but missed her.
"We haven't spoken," he confessed. "I really actually do miss her because she's the vibe. She's a really cool person. And I had the best time. When you asked me if I had the best time on the season, absolutely, this is one of my best seasons."
He also sang the Louisiana native's praises, stating, "Brooks is super talented, and we had a lot of fun. Life happens, and I do miss her a lot. She's the best."
Earlier this month, fellow DWTS dancer Ezra Sosa posted a TikTok video joking with Savchenko about his relationship status with Nader.
"Brooks, if you're watching, I miss you," Savchenko quipped in the clip.
