Whenever Bravo introduces a few new faces to the mix, Real Housewives fans get a wee bit nervous. Adding to a franchise is like high school chemistry: one wrong ingredient, and bam; the whole classroom is filled with some smelly sulfur. But the class of 2024 has done quite well intermingling with the OGs as they set their own tone. So, let’s look at some of these women’s potential to improve the Bravosphere.
Katie Ginella lit up the Real Housewives of Orange County
Not many women would enter a new group of friends and go directly after the star. But this is exactly what Katie Ginella did when she chose to go toe to toe with Heather Dubrow. The former golf announcer showed no fear as she tried to call Heather out for lying about setting up paparazzi photos. Even though she faltered by trying to stir up the fake drama with Gina Kirschenheiter, there might be time for her to recover. What makes Katie so endearing to fans is her family scenes. They are genuine and invoke plenty of emotion, especially when her son calls her by her Korean name. Overall, Katie has been pretty transparent, seems to move well within the group, and can hold her own.
Bronwyn Newport is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
I equate Bronwyn Newport to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Mainly because this newbie shines bright like a diamond and isn’t afraid to wear color or a $15,000 YSL heart jacket. There is something deeply relatable about our newest snowflake. She is young, quirky, and hilarious, especially with her witty confessionals. She is everything a viewer wants in a housewife, as her life is outlandish, and the drama is petty. But again, she shows a softer, deeply personal side revolving around her daughter’s father. Fans are invested in Bronwyn’s storyline and want to see a positive outcome for her family.
The mother of one had no problem throwing herself into the drama. She has already riled up Heather Gay and had words with her friend, Lisa Barlow. The 39-year-old was exactly what the cast needed, especially after the Monica Garcia drama. Each week, I look forward to the new outfits and shade she will throw at her co-stars. There is no doubt that Bronwyn is no one-season housewife.
Britani Bateman, another RHOSLC newbie
Another newbie on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City brought a lot of baggage. Yes, Britani Bateman. The actress can’t seem to keep any personal information to herself and often finds herself helplessly in love. Britani is a mess, but I can’t look away. It also helps her standing that she has already annoyed Mary Cosby because now she is on the receiving end of the preacher’s wrath. Between her “spreadsheet” of potential suitors and her inability to know true fashion, I can’t help but root for the helpless romantic.
Even though Britani won’t have it easy, she is a good distraction. Her storyline with Jared Osmond has been dramatic, to say the least.
Real Housewives of Potomac’s Stacey Rusch gives me robot vibes
I don’t know what to make of the newest Real Housewives of Potomac addition. All I know is Stacey Rusch is top of her class when it comes to making her co-stars uncomfortable. The mother of one has already come from Ashely Darby after the former beauty queen spilled information about her dating life. But that won’t be enough. Some of the women have accused Stacey of being boring and stiff, which I agree with. She is riding hard for Karen Huger, which I think will bite her in the butt. But this can be good for Stacey and help shake up the season. Stacey has endless positivity, which seems odd for a Real Housewives show, but it works for the former QVC anchor. If Stacey can pull it together and become a little messy, I think she can graduate as a salutatorian.
