The professional wrestling world was surprised to hear that WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) had agreed to a multi-year partnership.
This means that wrestlers from WWE NXT and TNA could crossover and appear on shows for the other promotion.

While there have been temporary deals with other companies in the past, it's hard to think of another time a collaboration of this magnitude happened in the pro wrestling business.
Naturally, plenty of wrestlers see an opportunity in this partnership, including a former WWE Superstar who just so happens to be the TNA World Champion.
Nic Nemeth, known in the WWE as Dolph Ziggler, has spoken plenty about how much of a benefit this partnership is for both brands. Additionally, he had spoken about wanting to have a moment with John Cena while he is on his retirement tour.
Specifically, Nemeth would like to Cena make an appearance on TNA.
"Yeah, it would be [special]. Absolutely," Nemeth said, per Jon Alba of The Takedown on SI. "As much as I would like to hog it, no matter who was in that moment with him, that would be cool as hell because he's done so much for so many other people, and this is a big year to get everything in."

Nemeth and Cena have a history together with multiple great matches, especially when Nemeth had the Money in the Bank briefcase and had an alliance with Big E and AJ Lee.
"I just saw Big E on TV," Nemeth said. "I was like, 'you know what? It'd be funny if Cena was doing one of his Monday Night Raw nights, and he came out, and then Big E came out, and then AJ Lee came out on the stage, and then I came out on the stage.'"
"And it just reminded me of 2013, where we had six months of battles with John and he broke that, my briefcase, over the top of my head maybe 45 times in that six months. And I said, 'that would be a nice visual. That'll be a nice moment for fans to have all these returns and have a moment.'"
While Cena's list of opponents is already incredibly long, bringing back Nemeth would be exciting.
Nemeth has proven to be a bonafide star outside of WWE. To have him face off once again against arguably the biggest wrestler of all-time would be phenomenal.
