At the Baltimore live event (part of the ongoing WWE Holiday TOur), Knight took the microphone before his match with Santos Escobar and shared a humorous story with the crowd.

He explained that while driving on I-70, he was involved in a "little fender bender" after someone decided to "bang into his car." Knight went on to describe the amusing interaction he had with the rental car company as a result of the accident.

"It wasn't an easy road down here. I'll tell ya why, earlier today, driving down I70, I got in a little fender bender. Someone decided to back into my car," Knight told the crowd. "So I call up the rental company and I say 'Hey, we got nothing to worry about here, but I got into a little fender bender, so I just wanted to let you know.' He said 'Well can you say there at the scene?'I said 'NAH-NAH! You don't understand! I got to get to Baltimore!' He said 'Okay sir, did you get any pictures?' I said 'YEAH!'"

As seen in the video above, Knight took a moment even in his description of the "fender bender" to invoke his fan-favorite "YEAH" catchphrase.

"I said, 'I'm on my way right now,'" Knight continued. "He said, 'Sir, what are you in such a hurry to get to Baltimore for?' I said 'Well, as soon as I walk in the building, some dummy...' He said, 'Dummy?' I said, 'YEAH!' I said, 'Some dummy's gonna walk down here and he's gonna need to get stomped out!'"

Knight went on to defeat Santos Escobar in the match, which is presumably a boost after losing the WWE United States Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura the previous month at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Knight signed with WWE in 2013, performing under the ring name Slate Randall until his release in 2014. Ricker then adopted the name Eli Drake and signed with TNA (now Impact Wrestling) in 2015, where he became a top star, winning the TNA World Championship, TNA King of the Mountain Championship, TNA World Tag Team Championship (with Scott Steiner), and the Feast or Fired briefcase twice.

In 2019, Ricker left TNA and rejoined the NWA, where he won the NWA World Tag Team Championship with James Storm. He returned to WWE in 2021, rebranding himself as LA Knight, and quickly gained popularity in NXT before moving to SmackDown.

While in WWE, he captured the Million Dollar Championship and briefly performed as Max Dupri in 2022 before reverting to his LA Knight persona. By early 2023, Knight's fan support exploded, leading to a significant push and ultimately capturing the WWE United States Championship at SummerSlam 2024.
