X is all set to make things different on the platform with the new feature in action. The latest feature by X will change the way block work. Now, all the locked users will b able to see posts, profile, and followers of the people who have blocked them. While the update and the reason behind the same has been explained by X.com, still a majority of users have shown their concern citing it as a threat to their safety on the platform.
X introduced an updated block feature
X announced the new changes for the block function in October 2024. According to the updated policy, all the blocked users will be able to see the profile and posts of the people who have blocked them. Nonetheless, the blocked ones won’t be able to reply, like, or retweet the posts of the users who have blocked them. Apart from that, they will also be unable to send DMs as well.
Previously, the policy page was not missing out on the point related to the access to followers and following lists. But now, it has been updated on the page so that the blocked users will also be able to access the followers list of the users on the other end. The official engineering page of X has explained the same and said that this has been done to let the users share and hide all the harmful or private information related to any or every offender they see on the platform.
