Xiaomi is going to reportedly start making its own processors by 2025 which will be a leap forward. With this, Xiaomi is planning to join the same league as Apple, Samsung, and Google. Talking about the same, Bloomberg mentioned in a report that Xiaomi will start making its own processors starting in 2025. And it is being said that the mass production of the processor will start the very same year as well.

Xiaomi to start making its own processors soon

If Xiaomi starts making in-house processors then we will get to see a market disruption next year depending on how powerful the processor is. And the most intriguing part here is that this is not happening for the first time that Xiaomi is going to make in-house processors.

Xiaomi did its first back in 2017 with the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 5c smartphone with Surge S1 processor. However, it failed to make a mark in the market. And if this time, Xiaomi wants people to address the new change then they need to make a powerful chipset that can stand in front of Qualcomm and MediaTek offerings.

As of now, Xiaomi phones are powered by either Qualcomm or MediaTek processors. Producing its own chipsets will make sure that the company has better control over the Xiaomi ecosystem and its phones as well. Furthermore, this initiative could be a result of continuous tension going on between US-China trade and Taiwan’s geopolitical scenario.

However, the road to ship phones with in-house processors is going to be a rocky one for the company. Previously Oppo also tried creating an in-house processor but they had to put a halt on the same due to revenue constraints. Let’s see how Xiaomi will overcome all the challenges and how soon we get to see a Xiaomi phone with an in-house processor.
