XYZ Gallery in London will be home to Planet Loving Commission, a sustainability-focused pop-up showcasing eco-friendly designs and vintage pieces, running from 12-22 November 2024.
Fashion enthusiasts with a passion for sustainability can shop consciously, including an opportunity to acquire rare items from brands including Ghost, The Vampire’s Wife and Stüssy. Described as "not just another sustainable pop up", the curated space will also bring together PLC, AJA Botanicals, Remnant Revolution, Papillon Bleu, Bell Hutley and Sex Brand (eco conscious condoms), celebrating a strong emphasis on environmental impact, ethical production and timeless pieces.
The preview sale launches on Tuesday 12 November from 7pm, allowing guests to explore each brand’s commitment to sustainability through interactive exhibits, live discussions, and a chance to meet the makers while purchasing limited-edition designs. Alex Adamson, Co-founder of The Vampire’s Wife, said: "We’re thrilled to create a space where luxury meets sustainability in every real sense of the word.
"An opportunity to see that you can live ethically without compromise. Each brand shares a unique narrative of how they impact the world responsibly from bio-degradable condoms to unique vintage pieces, this pop-up experience is about more than just shopping. It’s a place of discovery, a veritable emporium where everything is made with people and planet in mind." Additionally, at the launch party on the evening of 12 November, Adamson and Tanya Sarne from Ghost will host a talk entitled 'Not Worthy', introducing attendees to their new joint project, PLC, while also holding a Q&A session. Signed copies of Sarne’s autobiography, 'Free Spirit', with be available, along with rubber free condoms and a glass of Apeal World’s organic apple cider vinegar (ACV) "for the after party". DJ’s will also be on the decks. On the evening of 13 November (at 7.20pm), Adamson, along with Vanessa Barker, founder and CEO of Papillon Bleu and pioneer of regenerative agriculture in textiles and ethical fashion production, will present 'Breaking Up with Polyester' to businesses. They will address how you can create healthier staff uniforms, from t-shirts to tailoring, in line with implementation of ESG goals – with a "cost effective and wholly non-toxic process". Barker will be back again on the evening of 14 November to present 'Forgotten Fibres', a deep delve into natural fibres and clothing made in a textile value chain, working with tribal farmers in fair trade in Southern India. The XYZ Gallery is located at 5 Grays Inn Road in London and the pop-up will be open from 10am – 6pm daily.
