Yankees Fans Who Grabbed Dodgers' Mookie Betts Face Extreme Ban: Report

3 hours ago 2

The two New York Yankees fans who reached over their seats to grab Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts in Game 4 the World Series will reportedly be banned from all MLB stadiums "indefinitely," according to a new report.

According to Dan Martin of the New York Post, MLB sent a letter to the fans, whom the Yankees banned from Game 5: "Your conduct posed a serious risk to the health and safety of the player and went far over the line of acceptable fan behavior. Based on your conduct, Major League Baseball is banning you indefinitely from all MLB stadiums, offices, and other facilities."

The Post notes that Austin Capobianco and John P. Hansen — identified in earlier reports as "John Peter" — were ejected from Game 4 after they interfered with Betts' pursuit of a foul ball headed for the stands.

After Betts secured the ball in his glove, Capobianco tried to pry the ball out while Hansen grabbed Betts' hand as he attempted to clasp it over his glove.
