Young Thug's Slime Season 2 is officially on streaming.
On Christmas Day, Thugger bestowed the gift of his revered second installment of his Slime Season trilogy to DSPs nine years after its original release.
Thug kicked off the trilogy after the release of his mainstream debut Barter 6 in 2015. The first SS landed on Sept. 16, with the second volume arriving on Halloween shortly after. The "Best Friend" rapper took a break from the series and released 2016's I'm Up, before blessing fans with SS3 in March 2016.
Slime Season 2, a fan-favorite in the Atlanta rapper's discography, is sparse in its features. Thugger enlisted Lil Uzi Vert for album opener "Big Racks," the late Trouble for "Thief in the Night," Yak Gotti on "Pull Up on a Kid" and Rich Homie Quan for "Never Made Love."
To commemorate the Slime Season trilogy, Thug also announced that it would be pressed into a vinyl bundle. As expected, it sold out immediately. Curiously, the bundle features alternative artwork for Slime Season 3 where his eyes aren't obscured.
The album is a welcome diversion from Thug's relationship drama with Mariah the Scientist after footage was released on Dec. 23 of the rapper consoling Leena Sayed over the phone during his time in prison. Sayed is now expecting a child with professional boxer Devin Haney. She addressed the two-year-old footage, writing on Instagram, "That video was before I met my bd...I would never talk to thug or any other man."
Thug, on the other hand, might be sleeping on the couch for a bit. In a post on X, Thug wrote, "She so mad, I said merry Christmas and she said thank u."
