Can’t view your YouTube Music Recap? Here’s why

If you can’t view your Recap on YouTube or YT Music apps, it is possible that you didn’t meet the eligibility criteria for it. Yes, you heard that correctly. Like Spotify, YouTube requires its users to rack up a certain number of listening hours to compile their end-of-the-year stats. Apart from minimum listening activity, YouTube Music has additional criteria that must be met in order to create your Recap. Take a look.

  • For seasonal Recap, users need to rack up at least 4 hours of listening activity across YouTube and YT Music apps. The minimum listening criteria for the year-end Recap is 10 hours.
  • If you have set your watch history to auto-delete after a certain period of time, your listening activity during that period won’t contribute to the Recap.
  • If you have paused your watch history, then your listening activity won’t count.
  • YouTube Recap does not take made-for-kids music or podcasts into account.
  • Recap isn’t available for podcasts that you migrated from Google Podcasts or added to your YouTube Music library by their RSS feeds.
