Zach Bryan and Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia have officially called it quits after a year of dating. The country singer shared the news on his Instagram Story, expressing his deep respect and affection for LaPaglia, who is well-known for her work with Barstool Sports.
In his heartfelt message to his 4.7 million followers, the 28-year-old artist acknowledged LaPaglia's unwavering support.
"She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time, and for that, I'll always thank her," Bryan revealed.
Bryan revealed that he had experienced a particularly tough year, mentioning personal struggles without going into specifics. He explained that he felt it would be best for both of them to go their separate ways.
"I am not perfect and never will be," he wrote.
"With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself."
LaPaglia's reaction and subsequent speculation
Following Bryan's announcement, LaPaglia took to her Instagram Story to express her feelings, stating that she felt "blindsided" by the breakup. She shared her plans to step back from social media to focus on healing.
"When I'm ready, I'll be back and ready to talk," she declared.
Rumors of the split began circulating earlier when screenshots of Bryan's profile on the celebrity dating app Raya were shared on platforms like Reddit and TikTok. LaPaglia added to the speculation by posting a cryptic poem that hinted at moving on.
"Eventually you'll find that life goes on / Even if you don't want it to."
Despite their evident affection for each other, an insider revealed that their relationship was "always rocky" and suggested that Bryan's lifestyle may have contributed to the challenges they faced as a couple.
Bryan and LaPaglia began dating in July 2023, just two months after Bryan ended his previous relationship with Deb Peifer, which lasted for a year.
The couple made their first red carpet appearance together in February at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where Bryan celebrated his first award win for the duet "I Remember Everything" with Kacey Musgraves.
However, their relationship faced scrutiny when allegations surfaced that Bryan had cheated on LaPaglia. In March, she defended him on her "BFFs" podcast, clarifying that Bryan's past hookup occurred before they started dating.
