Royal expert Jennie Bond claims that Zara and Mike Tindall are prepared to "step up" if requested by Prince William, as their popularity within the Royal family has grown significantly in recent years. According to Bond, the couple's unique position allows them to have "the very best of both worlds" and while they are unlikely to seek more involvement, they would be willing to support William if needed.
Bond stated, "Although they don't have titles, they obviously have the cachet of being so much part of the extended Royal Family. They have managed to use that commercially without getting into too much bother."
She also noted that the couple's close relationship with William means they would agree to support him if asked, as they did at a garden party last year. However, Bond clarified that this support would not extend to official working roles, saying, "Not to an official working role, nor do I think the public would want to fund any more working royals."
Bond also praised the couple's genuine connection, saying, "Zara really is a remarkably beautiful woman, no wonder Mike always looks so proud and happy. The feeling is mutual: she oozes love for her big bear of a rugby star husband, with his crooked nose and rugged appeal."
Zara, aged 43, and her husband Mike, 46, are the picture of contentment living on Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, according to a Royal expert, reports the Mirror.
The couple is often seen displaying their affection for one another, with the expert commenting: "Zara really is a remarkably beautiful woman, no wonder Mike always looks so proud and happy. But the feeling is mutual: she oozes love for her big bear of a rugby star husband, with his crooked nose and rugged appeal. I think we all enjoy seeing them out and about together, usually arm in arm or having a cuddle - living life to the full."
Earlier this week, it was reported that Zara and her brother, Peter Phillips, might face a significant inheritance tax bill if they inherit their mother's Gatcombe Park estate. The property, bought by the late Queen Elizabeth in 1976, is now thought to be valued at an impressive £6million.
In the documentary 'Gatcombe Park: A Royal Residence', it was suggested that the Royal siblings could be the beneficiaries of the estate. Simon Vigar, a Royal correspondent for 5 News, remarked: "I think Gatcombe Park is the forever home for Anne and Tim, it's obviously where she is happy. She's been very happy there since the late 1970s."
Editor-in-chief at Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Stewart, commented: "I think it's absolutely no doubt that Zara and Peter will keep Gatcombe going, the last thing in the world they'd want to do is to have to sell it and they won't."
However, Zara and Peter could be hit with a hefty tax bill if they inherit the estate. Terry Fisher from We Buy Any Home highlighted the potential financial burden, saying: "If Gatcombe Park is valued at £6million, inheritance tax (IHT) could be substantial. In the UK, inheritance tax is currently charged at 40% on estates exceeding the £325,000 threshold, unless exemptions or reliefs apply."
