Zoe will make a surprise return to TV

Zoe Ball is set to make a major return to television after signing up for a beloved BBC series.

The popular presenter recently stepped down from hosting BBC Radio 2’s breakfast show after six years, citing a desire to focus on family following the passing of her mother, Julia, from cancer. Zoe made history in 2019 when she became the first woman to host the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, taking over from broadcasting legend Chris Evans.

Her appointment was a landmark moment for the station. Zoe has also been a regular fixture on BBC television, co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from 2011 to 2021, where she became a fan favorite with her in-depth interviews and behind-the-scenes insights into the hit dance competition.

Now, just months after leaving Radio 2, it's been reveal that Zoe has landed an exciting new TV role, taking part in the next season of Who Do You Think You Are? The hit BBC series follows celebrities as they delve into their ancestry, uncovering family secrets and historical connections. An insider told The Sun: "Zoe comes from a famous family, but not much is known beyond that. She was thrilled to be invited onto the show and is eager to discover what they uncover about her roots."

Zoe’s return to TV comes just days after reports surfaced of her embracing a more low-key lifestyle, even helping out at her local café in Sussex. The former BBC star, who was once the corporation’s second-highest-paid presenter, has been spotted working at The Big Beach Café in Hove, owned by her ex-husband, DJ and record producer Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim.

Their son, Woody Cook, previously shared insights into his parents' shift to a quieter life. Speaking to MailOnline, he said: “In the last five years, it's been funny watching my parents take up gardening. These crazy party people I grew up with are now gardening, making puzzles, and working in the local café.”

Zoe and Norman were married from 1999 until their split in 2020 but have remained on friendly terms, often seen together in their hometown. With Who Do You Think You Are? marking her much-anticipated return to TV, fans will soon get to see a different side of Zoe as she embarks on a deeply personal journey into her family history.
