2027 Pixel Tablet ‘3’ might have a second USB-C port

3 weeks ago 2

The first Pixel Tablet was released in 2023, and a new Tensor G6 leak today reveals that Google is planning another large screen device for 2027.

According to documents seen by Android Authority, the Tensor G6 will be used on the following Pixel devices:

  • Base ‘26
  • Premium ‘26
  • Fold ‘26
  • Entry Phone ‘27
  • Tablet Pixel ‘27

The Tensor G6 on that Pixel Tablet will have a second USB-C controller for “tablet only use cases.” It will support USB 3.2 and DisplayPort output with daisy-chaining allowing a second display.

As of right now, nothing that’s leaked specifies what the intended tablet use for an additional port will be. An external display seems like the most likely path, with Android’s desktop windowing presumably fleshed out by 2027. Google also remains rumored to be working on a keyboard (and stylus) accessory for the Pixel Tablet.

Along with that second port, this device sounds more for productivity than the entertainment-focused tablet we have today. That said, this Pixel Tablet 3 will retain the existing pogo pins for the Charging Speaker Dock.

Next year would be the earliest opportunity for a Pixel Tablet 2, so Google could be on a two-year release cycle for this product line. Given development timelines, it somewhat suggests Tensor G4 for that next device.
