Uncle Murda has returned with the latest installment in his annual “Rap Up” series. This year’s release is a 17-minute lyrical tour de force chronicling the year’s most unforgettable headlines, controversies, and viral moments.
Staying true to tradition, this year’s “Rap Up” is soundtracked by sample-driven instrumentals courtesy of producer Great John, blending nostalgia and innovation to craft the perfect backdrop for Murda’s unapologetic commentary.
The 2024 edition incorporates iconic samples from Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody,” The Temptations’ timeless “My Girl,” The Isley Brothers’ soulful “For the Love of You, Parts 1 & 2,” and 112’s romantic ballad “Cupid.” These samples ground the track in familiarity while Murda delivers his signature mix of wit, sharp critiques, and raw honesty.
From dissecting scandals involving superstar entertainers and athletes to lampooning political leaders and even clergymen, Uncle Murda spares no one.
VIBE highlights the most brutally honest lyrics from Uncle Murda’s “Rap Up 2024” that left us entertained and aghast.

Diddy
“Ni**as like ‘Diddy locked up,’ oh well/ We seen how he beat Cassie up in that hotel/ He was dragging her, kicking her/ He made a video apologizing for hitting her/ Man, imagine all the sh*t that we ain’t see/ When she was living with that ni**a and he got angry/ Got me like ‘Diddy do it,’ that ni**a did it, Diddy a rapist/ We trying to figure out who else Diddy was on them tapes with”
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ assault of Cassie Ventura earned him a mention in Uncle Murda‘s 2023 recap, yet, the mounting allegations and criminal charges levied against the mogul made him a key topic of discussion on “Rap Up 2024.”
From video of his vicious beatdown of Ventura being revealed, to accusations of the Bad Boy founder sexually assaulting multiple men and women throughout his career, Combs has all but lost the benefit of doubt and turned into the most popular punchline of the year.
Speculation over the contents of his alleged “Freak Off” tapes are also mentioned, with many eager to know of the potential figures who participated in the alleged drug-fueled romps.

JAY-Z
“Every day a new charge getting brought up/ They even got a hotline for Diddy that you can call up/ Stevie J the only ni**a that stayed your f**king friend/ JAY-Z will never pick up the phone for Puff again/ They tried to say he and Jay raped a 13-year-old/ We don’t believe that, leave Beyonce man alone/ They ain’t waste no time to respond/ Had flashbacks of that elevator sh*t with Solange”
Currently regarded as an industry pariah, the majority of Combs’ network of associates have seemingly abandoned him, save for former Bad Boy producer Stevie J.
The Hitmen member was spotted with Diddy prior to his arrest and has publicly spoken out on his behalf amid the heinous allegations against him. On the other hand, JAY-Z has distanced himself from Combs, particularly after Hov was accused of sexually assaulting a teenager at an MTV Video Music Awards after party nearly 25 years ago.
The Brooklyn bred mogul would immediately refute the allegations and the accuser’s story would be found to have inconsistencies, rendering her credibility as questionable, to say the least.

J. Cole
“J. Cole responded but his sh*t wasn’t all that/ Then he apologized and decided to fall back/ He ain’t want no smoke with Kendrick going bar-for-bar/ He Tre from Boyz n the Hood now, let me out the car/ This ni**a let the whole Hip-Hop culture down/ Don’t write no more raps talking bout how you got the crown/ Claim to be the best rapper every time you spit a verse/ How you apologize to a ni**a that dissed you first/ You went out like a sucker J. Cole., just being honest/ A ni**a tell you different, they just being modest/ Drake on his own now, J. Cole got scared/ That’s what happen when you pop sh*t, but really not prepared”
The beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake captivated the music world during the second quarter of 2024, but the duel almost became a three-way match upon the release of J. Cole’s Might Delete Later project.
Released in the wake of being mentioned by Kendrick on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” Cole unleashed his own diss record, “7 Minute Drill,” taking aim at K. Dot, albeit in a more passive manner.
However, Cole quickly had a change of heart, literally deleting the song from existence and issuing a public apology to Kendrick at his annual Dreamville Festival concert.
Safe to say, the move didn’t go over well with fans, who voiced their disappointment online and elsewhere, all but denying him of contention for being Hip-Hop’s lyrical king.

Rick Ross
“Like Rick Ross was calling Drake a white boy/ Then got punched in the face by a white boy/ You see how karma came and got his lame ass/ He was talking bout Drake plane then his plane crashed/ He jumped in the beef then got jumped in Canada/ Got punched in the face and all that, it’s on camera/ The sh*t was in 4K, you see it very clear/ His man got knocked out, Ross ran and left ’em there”
Another footnote in the feud between Kendrick and Drake was Rick Ross’ involvement, as The Bawse seemingly took sides against his former collaborator. This lead Drake to send shots at him on the diss track “Push Ups.”
Undeterred, Ross clapped back on “Champagne Moments,” poking fun at Drake’s ethnic background amid other slights. Rozay’s jabs apparently came back to haunt him, as he and his entourage would end up on the losing end of a brawl in Drake’s hometown, a moment certainly unworthy of popped bottles.

Remy Ma And Papoose
“Remy new man look like Papoose on Tubi/ I can’t take him serious, when he talk, he sound goofy/ No more Black love, they lost that connection/ Pap new girl and Remy Ma got the same complexion/ She a boxer and Remy Ma a shooter/ She wanna fight Remy, Remy gon f**k around and shoot her/ You know it’s over when the internet in your business/ We all know who Remy Ma was chilling with last Christmas/ Taking pictures by that bum-a** Christmas tree/ Pap put the picture up for the industry to see/ I can see ’em going back and forth, making diss tracks/ I bet on Remy, who picking Pap?”
Once regarded among the beacons of Black love in the modern era, Remy Ma and Papoose’s fairytale ending has shattered before the world’s eyes, as Remy was discovered to have stepped out on her marriage by cheating with battle rapper Eazy The Block Captain.
Pap remained mum on the situation, even amid rumors that he physically assaulted Eazy The Block Captain at a battle rap event. The tea spilled over when Remy Ma went on a social media tirade, outing Papoose for his new relationship with Olympian and boxing champion Claressa Shields.
This led to the couple, who remain married, going back and forth, leaking text messages and photos of each other with their respective companions. While the drama seems to have simmered, it remains to be seen if this lover’s quarrel will continue to unfold.

Megan Thee Stallion
“Meg Thee Stallion lied to Gayle King bout f**king Tory/ Wonder what else she lied about in that whole f**king story/ She out here admitting being a whore/ Meanwhile, Nicki just made a 100-and-something million on tour/ Megan and Nicki don’t get along/ They used to be cool, remember that ‘Hot Girl Summer’ song/ I swear I thought Meg was a Barbie/ Then she switched sides and went and did a record with Cardi/ You know Megan be getting drunk, doing stupid sh*t/ Nicki was like ‘You gotta pick a side you goofy bi**h’/ Meg just be twerking like a stripper that’s getting money/ Nicki was calling her bigfoot, I thought the sh*t was funny”
Megan Thee Stallion became a sympathetic figure to many fans after being shot in the foot by Tory Lanez in July 2020, a crime which the rapper was sentenced to 10 years in prison for.
Yet, a large segment of the Hip-Hop community believed that there was more to the story and that Megan had not been fully truthful in her account of the events that led to the shooting.
Many fans pointed to an interview Thee Stallion did with Gayle King in which she denied having a sexual relationship with Tory Lanez, a claim that she later confessed was a lie in her In Her Words documentary.
Thee Stallion is said to have fallen out with other celebrities due to her alleged toxic behavior, including Nicki Minaj, whom she worked with prior to teaming up with Nicki’s nemesis, Cardi B, for the chart-topping hit, “W.A.P.,” and its follow-up, “Bongos.”

Lil Wayne
“Why you ain’t letting Lil Wayne perform/ At the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Jay, that was wrong/ Wayne be getting too high, trust me, I get it, bro/ That ni**a f**k around and come late or miss the show/ Or be up there mumbling and sh*t, running out of breath/ I seen Wayne perform before, I wasn’t too impressed/ Nah, I’m just playing, Wayne would’ve bodied it/ Why didn’t Jay holler at Wayne is what I don’t get/ Nicki said Jay did that out of pure hate/ He did that ’cause he don’t like her, Birdman, and Drake/ Nicki like ‘F**k that, somebody had to say it/ Wayne could’ve performed if JAY-Z OK’d it/ Wayne confused though, he don’t know how to play it/ Cause Jay paid his taxes for him when he couldn’t pay it”
Another huge storyline that dominated fall and will surely bleed into 2025 is Lil Wayne being snubbed for the NFL’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. The slot went to Kendrick Lamar, likely on account of his track record of hits and the monstrous year he enjoyed due to his war of words with Drake.
Being that Super Bowl LIX will be held in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans, and that the hitmaker has more Billboard hits than Lamar by a wide margin, a large segment of the Hip-Hop community argued on his behalf, with one of his most vocal supporters being Nicki Minaj.
The Queens native and Young Money alum lashed out at JAY-Z and Roc Nation, as they are responsible for curating the Super Bowl Halftime Show, attributing Wayne being denied the opportunity due to tensions between JAY-Z and Birdman, Drake, and herself.
However, Wayne has yet to publicly show any bitterness or resentment towards Hov himself, as his rap hero and former collaborator once helped him cover his tax debts, which Weezy revealed back in 2018.

Joe Budden
“Joe Buddens got locked up for being in the building naked/ It was on the Ring Cam, but one of his neighbors taped it/ That’s crazy, all the sh*t he be talking/ He was on some kind of drug, he wasn’t sleepwalking/ That’s embarrassing, I know he feeling crazy/ That’s why he ain’t been recording no new episodes lately/ Building he was filming in want him to get out/ On the last day of the year, we find that sh*t out/ This ni**a naked, playing with his neighbors door/ That’s some weird sh*t, that’s what the Ring camera saw”
A last minute inclusion on this year’s “Rap Up” was a bizarre incident involving podcaster Joe Budden, who was charged with disorderly lewdness after being captured on camera attempting to enter a neighbor’s apartment while naked.
The former rapper vaguely addressed the incident on his podcast, claiming that he had slept walked while naked, but fans remained skeptical of that explanation, with some speculating that the New Jersey rep was either intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
Whatever the case, Uncle Murda felt the need to bring the incident to the public’s attention, going as far as adding a few acapella bars detailing Budden’s explicit mishap.
