90 Day Fiancé star Faith Gatoc broke up with Loren Allen just one day after they got engaged.
During the Sunday, December 22, episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Loren, 33, and Faith, 30, had a tense conversation about where they will live after their marriage. Loren expressed his frustration by crushing beer cans, and Faith admitted she found the behavior to be weird.
After he said that one of his friends offered to let them live with him, Loren continued to crush the beer cans with his head. He also started poking his hand with a knife, which made Faith uncomfortable and she asked him to stop. Loren assured Faith that his behavior was normal, though she admitted that she found it to be disrespectful.
“Sorry and we’re done,” she told Loren as she handed her engagement ring back. She then asked why he was “acting” the way he was, adding, “It’s like a different person is in front of me.”
Faith continued to express her confusion as she told a producer, “I thought it was going to be happy today, but I’m scared. I’m not comfortable.”
She added that her concerns grew when Loren started playing with the bread knife.”Because we are trans and we don’t know who is the real one to accept us, you know, I’m shaking. I’m not expecting this,” Faith – who is biologically male but identifies as a woman – explained.
Earlier in the episode, Loren and Faith met with a lawyer to discuss their marriage. After the lawyer confirmed that same-sex marriage is not allowed in her native Philippines, they learned that they could legally by married in Taiwan. However, their same-sex marriage would not be recognized in the Philippines.
The lawyers went on to explain that their marriage would be recognized in the United States, and he suggested that Loren apply for a K-1 visa.
“This is what I didn’t want to hear because the whole point was to never leave here. I don’t want to go back to Vegas,” Loren explained after he heard the lawyer’s suggestions. “I don’t want to go back to my life.”
In addition to not wanting to return to Las Vegas, Loren said he “could never afford” to sponsor Faith once they moved due to his money issues.
The former couple – who first connected online – got engaged during the December 15 episode. “Is this a trick?” Faith asked Loren as he pulled out the ring, and he responded, “No, it’s a real ring!”
Faith happily accepted the proposal, and she gushed that she wanted “to keep this love forever” while discussing the special moment in a confessional.
Before their brief engagement, the pair experienced many roadblocks in their relationship including Loren revealing that he had an STD when he had sex with other people during their relationship.
They briefly broke up after he dropped the bombshell, and Faith admitted she had concerns about his behavior after they rekindled their relationship. After she admitted to her sisters that she feared he would cheat on her again, Faith said she wanted to be “respected and loved” by him.
“I don’t want to settle with someone who cheats just because I am trans,” she said in a confessional during the November 17 episode. “If someone loves me, then he should be able to respect me.”
