Hello, and welcome to the first annual Reality Tea Awards! Today, we will review the hottest reality television couples of 2024. We will start by naming our top four nominees, followed by our winner, as voted on by the staff here at Reality Tea.
Here at Reality Tea, we celebrate love in all its forms. We also acknowledge that our mortal feelings can sometimes create outside frustrations. Broken roads usually carry fated partners directly to each other’s doorsteps, causing tricky narratives to evolve.
From dealing with their partner’s messy pasts to standing solid in their corners as the heavy shadows of life threaten to overtake their mates, we honor these reality television couples for their love. And we wish them a lifetime more still to follow.
Nominee: Alexis Bellino and John Janssen
Alexis Bellino and John Janssen started dating at the tail end of 2023. Their love story has contained several complications thus far, but come what may, these two remain a united front.
When Alexis returned to filming during Season 18 of Real Housewives of Orange County, she had to film alongside her man’s former love, Shannon Beador. Almost everything went wrong, as expected. However, Alexis is a soldier for her soulmate, so no matter how loudly certain costars (or the fans) came for their relationship, her support for John never wavered.
These two never let the haters come for their happiness, as love-loathers tend to do. Instead, they joined forces, trying to explain their sides of the story via outside sources. We can understand their hard stances on this matter, as, allegedly, Shannon almost ran over one of his children right before she crashed her car and snagged herself a DUI.
Alexis has bonded with his children, and he with hers. Therefore, Alexis is firmly in John’s corner, helping her man fight for his right to clear his name.
Alexis is now a stepmother-in-waiting, and we applaud this RHOC part-time star for her neverending support of John. We here at Reality Tea have also cheered on their efforts to boost the storylines this season on RHOC. These aspects combined to help them score a spot on our list, as this is one reality television couple that isn’t afraid to go loudly into that good night.
But mainly, we hope that as Alexis and John start their lives together, their love continues to increase. May today be the day that they love each other the least.
Nominee: Guerdy and Russell Abraira
Guerdy Abraira and her husband, Russell Abraira, will always have our hearts here at Reality Tea. Their love is pure and authentic, with zero red flags in sight. We adore this couple to the hilt, as a love like theirs is a rare gift in this often tragic world, which Guerdy and Russell fully understand.
After seven years of dating, these high school sweethearts tied the knot. As seen on Real Housewives of Miami, they now have two children, sons Miles and Liam. But in 2023, Guerdy announced that she had been diagnosed with stage 1 estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer after a routine mammogram, causing many emotional walls to come tumbling down within this precious family.
Thankfully, the chambers of their hearts never faltered. Russell remained by his wife’s side, helping her throughout the many highs and lows that come with this horrific disease. Even better, Guerdy is now cancer-free, and we know that she and Russell will make the most out of her second chance at living.
Guerdy and Russell make for a beautiful unit. They were an easy nomination for our 2024 Reality TV Couple of the Year award, and we hope that 2025 treats them favorably in every way possible.
Nominee: Joe Benigno and Margaret Josephs
Joe Benigno and Margaret Josephs are fun, hot messes on Bravo. But like many others on this list, their marriage has endured its fair share of hardships. Thankfully, like their fellow nominees, they have weathered all of their life’s storms as one. Hence their nomination as one of our top Reality TV Couples of 2024.
As learned on Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14, Joe now has prostate cancer. Thankfully, his tumor has not changed in size since their cameras went down, as it is very slow-growing. Due to this aspect, Joe has decided to skip any removal surgeries, knowing that the side effects would be awful to endure. Like a good wife, Margaret has been by his side this entire time, standing in solidarity with his decisions.
In turn, when Margaret lost her ex-husband to an unexpected heart attack, Joe stood in her corner. He knew that his spot in her heart remained shared with the father of her child (and stepchildren), so his ego remained intact as Margaret mourned this heavy loss.
Margaret and Joseph are the real deal. We hope that 2025 sees Joe continuing to beat this little b*tch called cancer. And by his side, we know that Margaret and her wine-glassed iced coffees will be.
Nominee: Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover
Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover star in three different series on Bravo. They stay booked and busy, creating iconic scenes for this network.
We have nominated Paige and Craig as one of our top Reality TV Couples of 2024 because their love maintains despite their living situation, which sees them splitting their time between New York City and Charleston, South Carolina.
Paige spends most of her filming days in her locale, shooting for Summer House and Winter House as the seasons change. Craig has appeared at her side in both of these series.
Meanwhile, Craig is a series regular on Southern Charm, filming several states south of his ladyfriend Paige. But like Craig, Paige has also popped down to film on her man’s series, and her scenes on this sometimes less-than-charming cast have been some of our favorites.
Paige and Craig have also endured countless break-up rumors because their fans are just as invested in their partnership as we are. However, we here at Reality Tea wish them nothing but happiness in 2025.
Winners: Serena Page and Kordell Beckham
Serena Page and Kordell Beckham are precious. The way that we here at Reality Tea are rooting for these two needs to be studied.
Appearing on Love Island USA Season 6, their slow-burn romance was nothing short of a Lifetime Movie. And yes, sometimes, we happily watch this season back on repeat because we like nice things, so allow us this guilty pleasure, fam.
As Love Island Season 6 progressed, Serena and Kordell’s love blossomed, making us giggle and cheer for their hearts from our couches at home. There was one hiccup in their path. This oh-no-you-are-not-having-us-both moment arose after Kordell brought a Casa girl back to the Villa. But Serena knew her worth, so when she said no to these foolish reindeer games, it was only a matter of time before Kordell realized what he stood to lose.
Cue a heartfelt, tear-jerking speech on his behalf, sending Kordell and Serena on to win their whole d*mn season. They have also won the title of Reality Tea’s first Reality TV Couple of 2024. We cannot wait to see what their futures hold. And we are thankful that they found each other on Love Island USA.
These love stories, as told on Summer House, Winter House, Southern Charm, Love Island USA, Real Housewives of Miami, Real Housewives of New Jersey, and Real Housewives of Orange County, are all available to stream on Peacock.
