Amy Adams — a self-proclaimed Swiftie — is reflecting on the time she met Taylor Swift.
On Tuesday, December 3, the 50-year-old actress appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed that the first — and only — time she met the popstar was an embarrassing moment for her. The starlet said the pair met "years ago" at a party after an awards show when they partnered up for karaoke. The duo sang "What's Up" by the rock band 4 Non Blondes.
The 2-time Golden Globe Award winner told the 50-year-old late-night host, "I may have... uh... sang it a little loud, and I'm sure everybody was like, 'Amy, shut up,' like, 'We want to hear Taylor sing,'" she reflected. "I was just in it... I should have sat down and just let Taylor sing."
Despite her loud vocals, the Enchanted actress declared she "had a blast" and is happy she did what she did. "Now, in reflection, if I were to do it now, I'd be so different...I did the right thing," Adams remarked. "I sang really loud over Taylor Swift and probably not great, either."
The Oscar-nominated actress told Fallon that she became a massive fan of Swift's after attending the Eras Tour. "I've always liked her music and appreciated her, and then I went to the Eras tour, a friend of mine had a ticket, and then I became like a Swiftie at 50. I'm a Swiftie at 50, so I'm like a shifty fifty Swiftie," she joked.
The Arrival actress was even all in on the tradition of trading friendship bracelets during the show, recounting, "I suddenly went from normal to like, 'I'll take all the friendship bracelets!'"
Fallon informed the A-lister there is a "campaign" online for her to play the 14-time Grammy winner's publicist Tree Paine in a biopic — the two women both have red hair and somewhat resemble each other. Adams seemed open to the idea, gushing, "That would be so fun! If it got me closer to Taylor then that would be fun."
