British telly enthusiasts have confessed to still watching a particular children's programme well into adulthood.
A lively debate initiated by a Reddit user garnered over 150 responses, with participants eagerly sharing their top picks for kids' shows that they enjoy as grown-ups, with one series being mentioned repeatedly.
The conversation was sparked by a telly buff who humorously asked: "Which kids shows did you watch as an adult? (And I don't mean because you watch it with your kids!)"
They also divulged their own viewing habits, explaining: "As an adult (I mean over the age of 18), I still watched a few shows on kids TV, mainly because I was a student so was often at home in the late afternoon or Saturday mornings (I'll be showing my age a bit as well!)"
Among the flood of suggestions, BBC's acclaimed show Horrible Histories emerged as a clear favourite. Launched in 2009, this hit comedy is adapted from Terry Deary's popular book series and aims to educate children about various historical periods through fun and engaging sketches, reports Surrey Live.
The show boasts a talented cast including Mathew Baynton (Wonka), Martha Howe-Douglas (Ghosts), and Jim Howick (Peep Show).
While fans were busy listing their preferred children's programmes, one participant endorsed the BBC gem, stating: "Horrible Histories - it's one of the best TV shows ever, I'm 52 and watch it all the time."
Another enthusiast revealed: "I watched Horrible Histories. Great Show, wish it was around when I was a kid as [I] loved the books."
Across the pond, a US fan admitted: "I bought the horrible histories boxed set a few years ago after discovering it (I'm American). Grown-a** adult, no children in my house, and I absolutely love it."
The acclaim for the series extends beyond Reddit, with Horrible Histories earning a host of accolades. As of writing, the show can proudly claim five BAFTA Children's Awards under its belt, which includes snagging the 2011 award for Best Comedy.
Horrible Histories is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
