Alejandro Sanz shuts down comments comparing his girlfriend to Shakira

Alejandro Sanz is in love, and he's not going to let anyone get in the way of his happiness. The Spanish singer confirmed his relationship with Candela Marquez earlier this year and has been sharing photos and updates of her on her social media. Some of his followers began to comment on the physical similarities between Marquez and Shakira, prompting an angry response from the musician. 

The comment was made in one of Marquez's posts, which shows various photos of her wearing a black bathing suit and posing by the shore. "Next destination..." she captioned the post. Sanz also shared his thoughts, praising her beauty and telling her how much he missed her. "My girl, I already miss you. See you soon. There's no way of explaining what has no explanation," he wrote. 

"Outer beauty is evident. Inner beauty requires a sensibility that's not easy to understand. The louder the noise, the more I love you." 

 While many comments in the post praised Marquez and Sanz's sweet comment, others began comparing her to Shakira due to her curly blonde hair. 

"Sanz isn't over Shakira and since she doesn't pay attention to him, he held on to this one who looks just the same, and he's still singing for the Cuban girl whom he hasn't gotten over," wrote a viewer, referencing Shakira and Sanz' previous relationship with Rachel Valdes. 

Sanz replied: "Poor guy. Go deep. Even deeper. Your place is there, at the bottom. Where nothing matters, not even breathing. There you'll understand your s*itty comment."

Shakira and Alejandro Sanz have a long and collaborative relationship. The two have released various songs together and were rumored to be dating following the release of "La Tortura," a song that became one of their greatest hits and featured the two dancing in a music video. 

Still, the two have been consistent with their friendship, supporting each other through the years and relationships.

“Today I went to see my brother sing and be himself," wrote Shakira following one of Sanz's concerts in Miami. "Ale, you have so much art. How nice it is to see a great artist like you be so close to his audience. Amazing, Alejandro!"
