Heidi Klum is the reigning queen of Halloween, or should we say, Heidi-ween. With costumes that continue to get more and more elaborate each year, the model sets the bar high and her annual Halloween bash is truly one of the most highly-anticipated events of the season.

This year, like always, Klum is keeping her costume for her Oct. 31 bash under wraps. Talking to SheKnows in early October, however, she gave three major hints about what’s to come. “It’s a couple’s costume, it is outer-worldly and I’m not very tall,” she said. Any guesses already?

And while we honor Klum’s incredible costumes at her annual party, we do have to give an honorable mention to her pandemic Halloween looks. The model respected guidelines by calling off her huge bash but still kept the spirit of Spooky Season alive with two major costume moments in 2020 and 2021.
We’re dropping those below but keep scrolling to see her 2023 look and all of Heidi Klum’s best costumes since she started her Halloween tradition more than 20 years ago.

2021: Klum’s Day
With the COVID-19 pandemic, Klum’s annual Halloween bash was sadly canceled in 2020 and 2021. But, luckily for the fans who love her spooky antics, she was not going to let that stop her. In 2021, Klum released the sequel to 2020’s Heidi Does Halloween. “Last Halloween, Heidi Klum met her untimely doom at the hands of her demonically possessed children,” the narrator said in the short video. “Now on this Halloween the dead will rise from their graves.”
In the almost 8-minute video, Klum’s corpse rises from the grave and reunites with her children. As time goes by, zombie Klum tries to go back to her motherly duties, including getting all dolled up and making lunch for the family – she even cuts off her thumb and adds it to the salad. Soon enough, her children realize what’s wrong with her, but this time it’s too late. Klum finally gets her revenge!
2020: Heidi Does Halloween
In her first video during the pandemic, Klum poked fun at all the families staying in and driving each other mad during quarantine. “This Halloween, stay at home and enjoy some quality time with the family,” the narrator said. “Just try not to kill each other.”
In the short video, Klum decides not to let her canceled plans phase her and chooses to celebrate the holiday with her family. After a short trip to the bathroom, however, her kids turn into monsters that are out to attack her. Though she swerves many times with her impressive camouflaging abilities, she’s eventually killed by her demonic children. It’s a true treat for any Halloween fans out there!

2023: A Peacock

For her 2023 look, Klum looked like a beautiful peacock with backup dancers as her feathers and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, as a massive egg. “I wanted to make something very elaborate and I wanted to make a costume with multiple people,” Klum told Entertainment Tonight of the costume which took a total of six hours to construct. “I wanted to make an art performance out of it.” Mission accomplished!

2022: A Gigantic Worm

Following the two-year hiatus, Klum’s halloween bash was finally back in 2022! After teasing her long-awaited look, she revealed that her 2022 costume is none other than a massive slimy worm. Seen walking the carpet with husband Tom Kaulitz in a fisherman’s outfit and her as the worm that attacked him, Klum also walked and even crawled through the carpet on her own and left everyone baffled in the process. Looking at the finished product – which took over 10 hours to complete – it’s hard to believe she’s even in there!
“I tried to think outside of the box and come up with other things and last year I was thinking, oh, a tree would be really cool, or like, a plant, and then I kind of went from plant to rainworm,” she told reporters, per Page Six. She added, “This is one of the top ones I would say, just because it’s so unusual and so big in size and it’s weird.”
