The Kar-Jennerâs are blazing a trail when it comes to making a name for themselves in the business world. With Kris Jenner in tow, the famous clan, seem to be able to turn almost everything they touch to gold. But even these reality TV icons arenât immune to the occasional epic fail.
From cringe-worthy sock collections to fashion lines no one asked for, their track record has some notable missteps. SKIMS and Good American might be raking in sales these days, but there have been a fair few flops that didnât quite make it to the Kardashian Hall of Fame business-wise. Buckle up for a wild ride through the ventures that proved even âmarketing geniusâ Kim Kardashian canât always keep it together.
DASH and Smooch
Now, the two arenât exactly fails, but the Kardashian sistersâ stores DASH and Smooch have closed down.
Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian opened the doors to their DASH boutique in 2006 and shut it down 12 years later citing their busy schedules and evolving priorities as the reasons for doing so.
Kidsâ clothing store, Smooch, was opened in 2004 by Kris and Kourtney. The shop shut down in 2009.

Nowadays, Kourtney reps her Lemme brand and Poosh, so perhaps Smooch was a good stepping stone.

Kimoji App
Gosh. Who doesnât remember the Kimoji App?
As if emojis werenât enough for people, the businesswoman opted for a venture into the tech realm with her own set for iPhone users.
Kris Jenner has famously said if youâre being told âno,â you havenât asked enough people.
By the looks of she and her kidsâ track record of going into business, she really means that.
Kimâs Kimoji App may have been a flop, but sheâs now a billionaire with SKIMS and more businesses under her belt. Turns out you have to have a few fails before you hit the big time.
Glamour Tan
Kim famously loves a spray tan, so it makes perfect sense for her and her sisters to rep a tanning brand.
Plus, who wasnât pumping bronze foam onto their body in the early 2000s? We certainly were.
Glamour Tan was a cute idea, but itâs another to add to the Kardashiansâ list of epic fails in the business world.
PerfectSkin
In-keeping with the Kardashiansâ big push on beauty products, the sisters opted to put their names and faces to PerfectSkin.
It was a three-step beauty routine that the trio said they opted for themselves.
The brand launched in 2010 but quickly became a flop.
A Kardashian credit card?!
Hang on a minute â The Kardashian Kard?! Since when were Kim, Kourtney, and KhloĂ© financial geniuses?
The business idea was a prepaid debit card launched in 2010.
However, literally within a month it became a flop after a lot of criticism came the credit cardâs way.
Some hefty fees were reportedly involved in using it and it quickly became a disaster.
Khroma Beauty
Twelve years ago, Khroma Beauty was the Kardashian sistersâ first venture into cosmetics.
Now, Kim is known for her beauty products, and Kylie Jenner has made a killing with Kylie Cosmetics.
But, things didnât work out as smoothly for the reality stars at the beginning of their business journeys.
In around a year, the Khroma Beauty buzz never quite took off and the sisters moved onto other things.
Kardashian Khaos
Now, we know the Kardashians are popular, but a themed shop purely dedicated to them seems slightly unhinged.
Back in 2011, the sisters opened the doors to a retail store located at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The one-stop-shop for anyone whoâs crazy about the sisters sold all kinds of items including water bottles, playing cards and homewares â all Kardashian-themed, obviously.
Sadly, by 2014, Kardashian Khaos flopped and was no more.
Arthur George
Robert Kardashianâs venture into the entrepreneurial world came in the form of a sock line.
He and his mom ended up both being involved in Arthur George and he collaborated with his sister, Kylie Jenner, on some socks.
However, putting his name to the brand didnât seem to keep it going, and Arthur George now appears to have fizzled into the background.
Kylie Swim
Kylie is a go-getter when it comes to business.
These days sheâs collaborating with her mom, Kris, on Khy launches. And, she really carved out a name for herself in the entrepreneurial world in her late teens with Kylie Cosmetics.
But, it appears not everything Kylieâs done has been a huge success.
She launched Kylie Swim three years ago and after a year of business, it failed.
Quick Trim and Kimâs workout video
Kimâs enviable physique naturally has people asking what she eats, what her workouts involve and whether she diets.
Opting to put her name and face to a weight loss supplement was probably a no brainer business-wise in 2009.
However, things really didnât pay off as less than four years later, the sisters distanced themselves from the brand.
The supplement wasnât the only health and fitness flop from the family as Kim also once launched a workout video.
In 2010, she shared another âget fit quickâ solution with the world in the form of her tape called Fit in Your Jeans by Friday.
Venturing into the book market
The Kar-Jenners have launched a few books in their time, but it seems venturing into the book market wasnât something that particularly paid off for them.
In 2014, Kendall and Kylie released a dystopian novel called Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia.
Despite having Kendall and Kylieâs names on it, the book sales didnât do great and it rounds off our list of epic fails from the Kar-Jennerâs past business ventures.
These days, Kylieâs making millions from her brands, and Kendall is still strutting the runway and selling her tequila brand, 818.
