Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman's rarely-seen kids dance up a storm with dad's girlfriend

Martin Freeman starred in a festive TikTok with his son Joe, daughter Grace, and his girlfriend Rachel Benaissa, after insiders claimed Amanda Abbington struggled to see him with the 'much younger woman'

Sherlock Holmes star Martin Freeman, 53, showed off his silly side as he danced with his kids and girlfriend for a TikTok video.

Martin’s daughter, Grace, 16, filmed the clip of Martin set to the song Brightest Star from his hit Christmas film, Nativity!. At the beginning of the video, the actor didn’t seem to invested as he sat on the sofa and mouthed the words while stroking one of his dachshunds. Grace’s brother Joe, 18, then took over for a line, with the panned camera showing off the festive decorations and chic interiors of the BBC actor’s living room.

Next, Grace filmed Martin’s girlfriend, French actress Rachel Benaissa, 30. The star was makeup-free in casual clothes, and committed to miming the dance and singing the lyrics. Soon enough Martin got off the sofa, and performed a choreographed dance with Grace. “Merry christmas from Mr Maddens,” Grace captioned the video.

Rachel looked very comfortable spending time with Martin’s family, after the couple’s relationship was first reported in November 2020, she shared a photo of them at a private screening of a Sky Arts documentary. They finally made their red carpet debut at Raindance Film Festival at the Dorchester Hotel in London in October 2021, and sparked engagement rumours in April 2022, with a picture that Mariam posted of the pair visiting her home town of Toulouse.

Martin shares Grace and Joe with Amanda Abbington, 50, whom he started a romance with in 2000. Their relationship came to an end in 2016, and Amanda admitted she went through a rough time after the split. Speaking on the Full Disclosure podcast with James O'Brien, she discussed her mental health, saying: "It was breaking up with Martin and then realising I needed to sort myself out because I was a bit of a mess. I hated myself."

This year, a source told Mail Plus: "Amanda had a terrible time when she and Martin split. She felt utterly helpless. It cannot have been easy seeing him leave and then rebuild his life with a much younger woman. She must have had some very dark periods when she had no control.”

Now with Jonathan Goodwin, Amanda revealed the pair plan to tie the knot next year at a friend's UK-based farm. She explained to Closer Magazine that Grace will be her bridesmaid, and hinted that there was no bad blood between her and Martin. When asked if Martin would attend her big day, she revealed: "I would imagine so. We're still mates, we're still good friends. It's important to maintain a good, healthy relationship with your ex if you have children, I think."

Amanda met Jonathan online. The former Britain's Got Talent star and actress first began interacting on Twitter, formerly known as X, in 2012. Speaking about their relationship she told The Guardian: "We were both in relationships at the time, but we admired each other's work and occasionally liked each other's tweets."

"I had fancied him for a few years," she said. At the time their relationship consisted of online chats and hour-long phone calls as they were living in different parts of the world. Jonathan said he knew he’d marry Amanda, and he popped the question within 30 minutes of hugging each other after finally meeting.
