Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K Max has plunged to a record-low for Black Friday

1 week ago 2

If you missed out on Amazon’s fall Prime Day event, the retailer’s early Black Friday sale is offering everybody another chance to score steep discounts on Amazon devices. One of the best deals currently available is on the latest Fire TV Stick 4K Max, which has dropped to an all-time low of $32.99 ($25 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.

Amazon’s latest streaming device is nearly identical to the last-gen model — which was once one of our top recommendations — only it features a number of iterative upgrades, including Wi-Fi 6E support and twice the storage (16GB). It can also display widgets and artwork when idle, much like recent TV offers from Hisense and TCL, and you can use it to create your own backgrounds using voice prompts and Amazon’s AI Art feature.

Like previous models, the second-gen Max also includes support for Dolby Vision (in addition to HDR10 and HDR10 Plus) and Dolby Atmos. The 4K-capable gadget continues to offer impressive Alexa integration, too, allowing you to bypass the remote with hyper-specific commands like, “Alexa, turn to ESPN on Sling TV.”

Amazon’s highest-end streaming stick is faster than its predecessor with Wi-Fi 6E and double the storage. It also now displays widgets and artwork when idle while continuing to offer a terrific selection of streaming apps and Alexa integration.

  • Thanks to an on-page coupon, Logitech’s G Pro X Superlight 2 is on sale at Amazon starting at just $115.89 (about $43 off), which is a new all-time low. The wireless gaming mouse is Logitech’s fastest, lightest, and most advanced, with a new Hero 2 sensor that tracks at 500 inches per second (and up to 32,000 DPI). As an added bonus, it also supports USB-C charging and Logitech’s Powerplay mousepad. Read our hands-on impressions.
  • The Asus ROG Ally is available at Best Buy with a Z1 Extreme chip for $499.99 ($150 off), while My Best Buy Plus and Total Members can buy it for $449.99 — its lowest price to date. Asus’ Windows-based gaming handheld is more powerful than Valve’s Steam Deck and boasts a bigger, seven-inch 1080p display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. That said, it’s not quite as impressive as the newer ROG Ally X, which offers better performance, longer battery life, and a more comfortable design. However, if you don’t want to pay $799.99, the older model is good value at this price. Read our review.
  • Amazon, Walmart, and Crate & Barrel are all selling the AeroPress Clear for $36.95 ($13 off), which is the best price we’ve seen on the clear-colored version of the original AeroPress (which is also $10 off at Amazon right now). We’re big fans of the single-serve coffee press here at The Verge, as it’s easy to use and does a great job of brewing delicious coffee while on the go.
