Angelina Jolie shows off new look as she's seen for first time since divorce settlement

Angelina Jolie - who recently reached a divorce settlement with ex-husband Brad Pitt - looked out of this world as she arrived at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards

Angelina Jolie turned heads as she arrived at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards with a new hairstyle.

The iconic star, 49, stepped out with her daughter Zahara Jolie, 19, this week after she and Brad Pitt finally reached a settlement in their lengthy divorce. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Tomb Raider star Angelina filed her paperwork on Monday and is 'relieved' it's over.

In a statement, Angelina's lawyer James Simon said: "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over."

Angelina marked her first red carpet appearance since finalising the divorce with fresh bangs. She looked out of this world in a slim-fitting black halter silk gown. She kept her accessories to a minimum as she rocked a large ring and earrings. The star looked relaxed as she stood with her gorgeous daughter.

Zahara went for the opposite vibe as she posed for pictures in a stunning flowing white gown with lace detailing and one sleeve. She held her mum's hand as they stopped on the red carpet for snaps. At the awards show, Angelina accepted the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in Maria.

It comes after Angelina, who is estimated to have a net worth of around $120million, opted to forgo spousal and family support from Brad. Lawyers for Brad are yet to comment on the settlement.

Oscar winners Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, dubbed "Brangelina", were at one point the golden couple of Hollywood after marrying and welcoming six children together. The couple got married in France in 2014 in an intimate ceremony in front of their children - who also helped custom design Angelina's dress.

However, two years later, she filed for divorce citing 'irreconcilable differences'. It came after the duo took a private jet flight from Europe, during which Angelina claimed Brad was abusive towards her and their children. He has always vehemently denied the allegation and was cleared by authorities following an investigation.

In 2019, a judge declared Angelina and Brad divorced and single. It wasn't the end of their bitter divorce battle as they still had to settle their assets as well as the custody of their children. The private judge hired by Brad reached a decision, including equal custody of their children, but Angelina filed to have him removed from the case over an unreported conflict of interest.

The appeal was upheld and Brad's private judge was removed from the case, meaning the couple had to start from scratch.
