As they do each Monday, Camilo and Evaluna released a new video this week on their YouTube channel, with an eye-catching title: "We’re Getting Married Again!" During their Christmas Eve dinner, the couple announced they would renew their vows in February to celebrate their five-year marriage milestone.
Inspired by her dad Ricardo Montaner and his wife Marlene, who, after 35 years of marriage, have renewed their vows seven times, the couple will hold a wedding. In the video, the couple shared their plans and the gift they already have in mind to share with those attending the ceremony.
At the start, Camilo suggests opening a bottle they were gifted on their wedding day for their Christmas Eve feast. This bottle had remained unopened for years due to previous family gatherings never reaching the 15-person limit: "I have an idea, what if we open the bottle from our wedding today? We’ve never been able to open it because we always thought there weren’t enough people. But now there are only 15 people, so I think today’s the day," said the "Shameless" singer.
At the dinner, Camilo realized it wasn’t a good idea: "It’s bigger than I thought!" At this point, Ricardo, who was holding the large bottle, said, "Let me tell you something - we’re not going to open it." "This thing is like six liters, and we’re not going to drink it all today. It’s not worth opening," added the family patriarch.
Ricky then came up with a new plan: "If it’s not going to be opened today, let’s figure out a way to take it to Guatemala in February," to which Camilo responded, "At my wedding!"
The special place they chose
The idea convinced everyone, and Montaner told his daughter, "Eva, we’ll drink it at the wedding." This conversation led Camilo and Evaluna to share their plans with their followers.
"Evaluna and I, copying our parents because they’ve been doing this for many years, have the idea of renewing our vows every five years. So, in February 2025, we’ll be celebrating five years, which is the wood anniversary," said Camilo.
The Colombian continued, revealing details of their second wedding: "To celebrate our wood anniversary, we’ll renew our vows and get married in Guatemala, right before our Latin American tour begins. That’s going to be very beautiful," he said. "By executive decision, we’re taking the bottle to Guatemala."'
Playing to the cameras, Camilo proposed marriage to his wife again: "Evaluna, do you want to marry me again, in February, in Guatemala?" The singer responded with a firm, "Yes," as she held their baby daughter Amaranto.
