Another Wicked Movie Marketing FAIL!! Look! 

This was a massive fail!

The official social media account for the upcoming Wicked movie musical just dropped a teaser of Ariana Grande singing the iconic song Popular from the hit show — only they totally screwed up the lyric video!

In the clip posted on Wednesday, they show Ari as Glinda dancing around her room with lyrics appearing on screen. The most noteworthy section read:

“Popular! You’re gonna be popular! / I’ll teach you the proper poise / When you talk to boys / Little ways to flirt and flounce / Ooh!”

Notice the problem?! There’s a major typo! And the actress herself called ’em out on it! In the comments on Instagram, she wrote:

“it’s ‘ploys’ !!!!!! i love you @wickedmovie “

So, the line should be “I’ll teach you the proper ploys” not “poise,” as they had it:

This comes after Mattel released Glinda and Elphaba dolls with the wrong URL link directing people and children to a porn site instead of the film’s website. Yikes!!!

How do they keep messing this up? They’re promoting likely one of the biggest movies of the year and they can’t bother to double-check their work? Well, maybe they did to an extent. Apparently the well known lyrics website Genius.com has the line as “poise” too.. hmm.. Still, you’d think the marketing team could get an official copy from someone, right? And this time, Wicked can’t try to blame this on another company because they’re the ones who released it. LOLz! This marketing team is struggling!
