Ant and Dec make a grand entrance as I'm A Celebrity stars face grim first challenge

The first batch of celebrity contestants are seen arriving as they get stuck right in with a gruesome challenge before they even reach the I'm A Celebrity camp

As the new season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here gets underway the first five contestants kickstart their journey with a gruesome challenge.

The batch of campmates meet at a poolside villa as they get ready to kick off their jungle journey with Strictly star Oti Mabuse the first to arrive. She is closely followed by N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos and Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough.

Next to turn up is Loose Women star Jane Moore before McFly star Danny Jones shows up completing the group. As they nervously stood waiting to see what would happen next they hear five helicopters approaching with show hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly arriving in one of the choppers as they exit and wave to the waiting group while heading towards the villa.

The hosting duo then explain to the waiting celebrities that they are set to take part in a race to become camp leaders. They are ten told that there is one helicopter each waiting for them by the lake and that they will be needing a parachute as they are about to go skydiving.

Explaining the task further Ant and Dec tell them that once they land they will meet the other five celebrity contestants and will need to pick one of them to form a team with. The winning team will then become the first camp leaders and get special privileges including being exempt from the first Bushtucker trial and getting to sleep in the Leader's Lodge.

As Ant and Dec beckon two waiters in the celebrities see five welcome cocktails which are a not-so-tasty recipe of blended bull’s penis and fish eye, with a vomit fruit garnish. Ant and Dec explain that the quicker they finish they drink will influence the rest of the challenge by dictating the order they jump from the helicopter's in and are subsequently able to pick their partner.

The celebrities then each take their drink as they gear up to attempt to down it and begin the race. Danny gets stuck in immediately and is the first to finish meaning he is allocated helicopter one and will get first pick of the other batch of celebrities to team up with.

Next to finish is Tulisa, with Jane coming in third place and Dean in fourth, as Oti completed the task last meaning she gets the fifth and final chopper. As the helicopters take off where they are set to land remains to be seen and anything is possible for the celebs before they make their way to the actual jungle camp.

The five contestants on the other team are Coleen Rooney, DJ Melvin Odoom, former boxer Barry McGuigan, influencer GK Barry and Coronation Street star Alan Halsall. I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! begins on Sunday November 17 on ITV1 and ITVX.
