Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater aren’t hiding their romance anymore! The costars-turned-lovers shared a rare PDA moment at the New York premiere of Wicked on Thursday, November 14.
The 31-year-old pop star wore a stunning, Glinda-inspired pink gown at the event at the Museum of Modern Art, while the 32-year-old Broadway alum wore a classic black suit. The two shared a sweet hug while posing with the rest of the Wicked cast.
Ethan recently sat down with GQ, where he spoke publicly about his romance with Ariana for the very time.
“Obviously, it was a really super big year,” he told the outlet, “and I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public. There were a lot of big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love. So just to address that part of it, that feels really hard.”
ICYMI, Ethan, 32, and Ariana, 31, made major headlines in July 2023 when romance rumors began swirling—despite both still being married at the time. While Ariana and now ex-husband Dalton Gomez had been married since May 2021, Ethan and his now-estranged wife, Lilly Jay, had been together since 2012 and shared a child together the year prior.
During a Vanity Fair interview, Ariana reflected on how her relationship with Ethan was portrayed by tabloids and fans.
“The most disappointing part was to see so many people believe the worst version of it,” she explained, adding, “There couldn’t be a less accurate depiction of a human being than the one that the tabloids spread about him.”
Despite all the noise, Ethan still says it’s been an “amazing year.”
“I’m just really excited,” he continued during his October interview. “I’m just really, really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on this. She’s poured herself into it. I’m really proud that I got to be there for that part of it, and I’m really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did.”
