Ariana Grande & Ethan Slater Embraced PDA During a Rare Outing at the 2025 NBR Gala

When the Wicked press tour got started, no one could really predict what would happen. After all, while star Ariana Grande developed an on-screen romance with co-star Ethan Slater, speculation about an overlap with their previous relationships meant their relationship got major backlash from the get-go. So would the two attend the carpet together or not? Would there be PDA?

As it turns out, Grande and Slater haven’t shied away from showing that they’re together on the red carpet. At their premiere in November, Grande was photographed fixing his tie. At the 2025 National Board of Review Gala last night, the two packed on some major PDA.

In one picture, Grande, who wore a gorgeous baby pink custom Loewe look, is seen looking at Slater while holding his arm. Slater, on the other hand, has a giddy smile on his face as he looks down.

In another picture, Grande and Slater, who didn’t walk the red carpet together, are seeing cozying up for a photo cheek-to-cheek.

At the NBR Gala, their movie Wicked was one of the most celebrated movies. In addition to Best Film, director Jon M. Chu was named Best Director and stars Grande and Cynthia Erivo were given the NBR Spotlight Award.

Prior to their PDA-packed appearance, sources gushed to Us Weekly about how “inseparable” they are following the Wicked press tour.

“Ariana and Ethan have written a whole new book together,” the source said. “[They are] still in the honeymoon phase of pure bliss,” a second insider added.

“The Wicked press tour made their relationship ever stronger, and Ariana is over the moon about Ethan,” the source continued. “They have so much in common, which is something Ari never had with past relationships.”

As a reminder, Grande split from her ex-husband Dalton Gomez in January 2023 after two years together. Slater, on the other hand, split with his ex-wife Lilly Jay on July 26, 2023, shortly after People reported on his relationship with Grande.

Now, it seems their past relationships, and all the backlash they got for being together, is water under the bridge.
